I think Proton VPN just ditched their running in background feature, and they made the app always close when clicking close button, and they add a minimize button. There is no way to put the app running in background now. I'm not against it, but personally it's just not suitable with my workflow. I'm looking forward to switch my VPN to either Mozilla VPN or Mullvad.
