CW: Classical music recommendations request
The soundtrack to #Amadeus. If memory serves, it’s mostly played by the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, conducted mostly by #NevilleMariner, & mostly features pieces by #Mozart. I like it because the album takes you on a journey, & every number is full of energy & virtuosity. My favorite music has story, talent, or “oomph”, & this has all three. As you might suspect, I first encountered it in the movie.

My man, who became an #anglophile while studying in the #UK during his youth, is waking (us) up at 4am-ish #Dallas time on Saturday to watch the #coronation of #KingCharles.
I’m half-tempted to mark the occasion by putting a McDonald’s-style #english muffin egg sandwich in front of him and calling it his breakfast, but no, this falls under “things we do for love”.

I was being a cultured #Queer, watching a Public Television adaptation of an unfinished #Georgian-era romance novel, when an aristocrat confessed to his male confidant that “most men enjoy pheasant but I prefer grouse”. I thought my English was OK but I barely figured out from context that the guy was outing himself. I suppose being obtuse was one of many necessary safety precautions back then.

I love the #Gurunsi style home covered in an undulating black-and-white check pattern. The optical illusions that visually distort the shapes of the walls are such a fun effect. I also like the parts of the design where it seems like one of the ladies said, “these few squares here, they need to break the pattern by having designs inside them, just for fun.”
