  2. Attackers Expose Ongoing AI Tool Use Targeting Organizations in Latin America

Two distinct multi-stage network intrusion campaigns are actively targeting Latin American organizations, with attackers leveraging artificial intelligence tools to enhance their capabilities. The Mexican transportation campaign (CL-CRI-1131) impacted transportation organizations and government entities in Mexico and Ecuador, utilizing living-off-the-land techniques and self-hosted NextChat instances. The Brazilian financial campaign (CL-CRI-1163) employed custom RATs and tunneling tools including a Go-based SOCKS5 proxy. Both operations demonstrate technical overlaps including shared SOCKS5 infrastructure and reliance on commercial large language models like Claude and GPT-4.1 for operational orchestration. Attackers used AI to generate scripts and troubleshoot execution failures, evidenced by iterative file naming patterns and exposed NextChat interfaces. However, fundamental operational security failures, including exposed staging directories and unsecured interfaces, provided defenders clear visibility...

  7. 20th century photos of #Mexican being rounded up and sent back highlight how mass #deportations are nothing new

No caption is needed to explain what kind of life this is. It's the same visual world that Dorothea Lange and her FSA colleagues were documenting up and down #California at the time

Except the families in these particular frames were Mexican, and many of them would soon be forced out of the country entirely – regardless of whether they held US citizenship.

  13. Overheard in Texas:

At a bus stop: "Hispanic? That's amazing, you don't look at all Hispanic!"

In a library: "So I told them, we're not like that, we're not white, we're Mexican."

I've lived in Texas for years, but I still find ethnicity here hard to understand.

  15. How do anarchists respond to the #Mexican state recuperating the legacy of revolutionary anarchist, Ricardo Flores Magón? @susurros sits down with Jamie, who speaks on how social movements are attempting to reclaim Magon's memory.
