#Oddly specific 🤣
Grammatical rules break down a bit when using repeating consonants to indicate lengthened speech.
I try to repeat consonants instead of vowels when that's an option to avoid confusion, but there's no real way to do that with 'not.' -
So uh, what does it mean if I boot my Intel Macbook from USB and it gives me a light grey screen with an Apple logo (no ⊘ symbol, but also no loading bar or spinny animation). Do I assume that it's doing something? lol
Probably doesn't matter but it's an A1286 MBP 15" mid-2010.

Working with the SP-202 is hilarious. It's so simple and intuitive, but difficult to do anything meaningful with.
Hihat sample a little too loud? Delete it and sample it again. Too quiet? Delete and redo. I mean, it makes sense, it's just too bad deleting a sample takes several seconds every time.
The voice stealing is amazing. A lot of devices do this, especially once effects are applied, but you can usually use the thing for a while before running into it, while you're still learning.
This thing has so little polyphony to go around, but still shares it with the effects, you *will* experience voice stealing, almost immediately. It's probably wise to supplement the kick and hat with a combined kick+hat sample.
I am very entertained.

Ok I'm basically at a loss at this point with this pyglet shit. This code is working on my laptop, but on the Pi, every time it tried to load the very same mp4 file, it gives me this "pyglet.media.codecs.wave.WAVEDecodeException: file does not start with RIDD id"
I tried "options['audio'] = ('silent'), and the mp4 doesn't have a bloody audio track to begin with, so idk wtf a RIFF id has to do with it at this point.
Should I re-encode with a silent WAV audio track to humour it?

I don't care what anyone says. This is the best marketing email I've ever sent (well, graphic for a marketing email, whatever).

I've also lost Xbanish, and there doesn't seem to be any kwin setting to automatically hide the mouse cursor when typing, which is super annoying (macs got this right in the 80s, people!). I also have a weird thing where the mouse cursor is two different sizes depending on what part of the window it's hovering over O_o

#Roland P-6 update: threw some 808 and 909 samples on it. Live recording and step sequencing are simple enough. The fact that every pot is a pot and not an encoder is a bit frustrating. I mean, they can't all be encoders, but the sample editing knobs are frustrating af, because if I tweak the volume of my kick for example, then go to tweak the volume of the snare, the moment I touch it, the snare jumps from w/e volume it was at to the position of the knob. (1 of ?)...

Maybe it's just a streak of bad luck, or maybe my queries are just leaning a certain direction lately, but has anyone else noticed that #Qwant's search results have changed noticeably in the last couple days or so?
I don't mean an bias or manipulation or anything like that. I'm just having trouble getting good results for certain queries, like if I use more than 2 or 3 words, it feels like parts of my queries just get ignored entirely. This is something I noticed about #DuckDuckGo almost immediately, and why I very quickly gave up on DDG, but it's not an issue I've really ever had with Qwant before now.
I know it's [in part, yes] a meta search engine, so there's a degree to which this may be out of their hands if the problem is another engine they source results from. I guess I just want to know if I'm crazy, or if others have noticed something similar?

These 3 items represent that entirety of a $100 USD gift card lmao. Okay, to be fair I also paid the $20 shipping with the gift card, but still. Guitar repair is not a cheap activity.
I decided in the end to get a single 2ft length of fretwire instead of 4ft, because my plan is to just do the problem areas rather than a full refret (for reference, 4ft is just enough to do an entire guitar), and that allowed me to get the set of 6 grits of this 3M flexible polishing cloth, rather than just the couple single sheets I could squeeze into the budget.
Worst case, fretwire itself is pretty inexpensive, so if I need more I can just make a trip down to Solo Music and spend <$20 for another 2ft length. Anyway, I should moat definitely forget all about this and get to work on something somebody will pay me for lol

Well I stand corrected. They're not an elitist, I just haven't had the opportunity to hear just how good a record can sound on a player that costs about as much as a small car. I bet you it's *almost* as good as a CD!

I think I just fell in love with the Ultranova. Also quite smitten with Reaper.
Finally got around to figuring out the built-in interface, and found my way around the basics of Reapers channel mixer. So I have a MIDI item sending notes out to the Ultranova, and I have the Ultranova sending its audio back to Reaper over USB, and then the Master is going back out to the Ultranova over USB which is sending everything out to my speakers on outputs 3 and 4 (everything just being the synth plus a 707 VST at the moment)
But what I really just fell in love with is the Ultranova Editor. The depth of this synth just revealed itself to me and I don't even know what to do with myself.
I still intend to build a hardware controller that can live on my desk and give me more hands on control of a lot of the Nova's parameters (over full size MIDI DIN, not through the PC), because I want to be able to tweak it like it's old school (and because I can) but this visual editor is definitely the beat way to access all its nooks and crannies.

#RolandP6 Update: IF THE FILTER IS GLOBAL IT'S DEAD TO ME
Edit: False alarm.
Edit: Or so I'm told? HELP ME, LOOPOP!

Currently trying to figure out how to make a #Reuleaux #polygon in #Tinkercad out of an actual polygon and a series of smaller circles.
I could probably figure this out abajillion times faster, but I’m finding the procedural puzzle that is making stuff happen in Tinkercad kinda entertaining.
Also I don’t #math good.

It’s happening! I’m finally making an adult purchase for myself!
I’m selling my current #officechair that I kinda hate (Global Avro? Just found that out today for the listing, lol) to offset the cost, so I kinda spruced it up for the photos (and reattached the RIDICULOUSLY TALL arm rests) and am now sitting in my even shittier chair until I can pick up the Teknion.
My back aches with excitement! 👨🦳
And to think I was about to drop $500+ for one of these… found it on Marketplace for $250, really nice condition. They let me put down a small deposit to hold it for a couple days 😊
Jesus it’s been a long time coming, in a lot of very bad #seating.
#ergonomics #taskchair (yes I am always down for an excuse to discuss office furniture)

Just started watching Somebody Somewhere today after seeing a random clip on YouTube Shorts. Never seen or heard anything about it until this point, but I'm very glad that clip came up on my feed, because I'm 3 episoes in and madly in love with this show.
It's beautiful, sad, sweet, adorable, and just... perfect. Watch it. Idk you but I like to think you'll enjoy it.

I haven't seen this for probably close to 20 years (and believe me, I've tried. Every few years or so I end up spending an evening scouring the web. This time around, it took all of 30 seconds). I once had a VHS copy but the last time I saw that tape was well over a decade ago.
It's a 2001 documentary film about Toronto's College St., told by people who grew up there during the depression, WWII, etc. I have a personal connection to this film, but the stories will likely feel familiar to anyone who grew up in (or knows someone who did) similar ethnic enclaves (The Ward, Little Italy, etc.) within major cities.
I highly recommend the experience.

New Big Thief album in T-42 days! Now I gotta deal with new album anxiety for like a month, because how do you follow up an album as good as Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You!? Nah, I trust 'em. They're definitely the real deal. Just gotta put it out of my mind for a month and a bit...

Just had an interaction with a Youtube commenter who was criticizing someone's Audio Technica LP120 as if they got a Crosley or something, and this dude had the nerve—the gall... the GUMPTION—to preface his response with "Not being an elitist, but[…]" before recommending that I compare it alongside a Linn LP12, which, in case your feet are a little too close to the ground, currently retails for about $20,000.
