Mit Taktfahrplan, systematisiertem Betrieb und modernem Sicherungssystem könnte man die Verkehrsbedürfnisse noch auf Jahre hinweg sichern, sage ich. Jetzt stehen da halt alte Loks rum, während aif ein paar Gleisen der Restverkehr abgewickelt wird. #japkorchinlath

- I found two pubs that sell beer for less than £5/pint:-
- Ship Inn on Piel Island, delightfully hard to reach - either ferry or walk across mudflats
- Inn at Ravenglass
- The beer festival was fun (£5/pint)
- I wish FirstBus/Trenitalia would check tickets more often/at all so the people squatting in my expensive seat could have been moved on
- Very friendly and helpful campsite owner, all the taxi drivers seemed to know him -

Nebenbemerkung: Über den Metronom-Anteilseigner Netinera Bachstein GmbH ist die italienische Staatseisenbahn #Trenitalia am privatisierten deutschen Bahnverkehr beteiligt. Wie das bei privatisierten Unternehmen üblich ist, kann sich das inzwischen wieder geändert haben.
Wenn eine Fahrgastbeschwerde wie der folgende Leserbrief zu lesen ist, braucht sich weder die #DeutscheBahn noch die #Bundesregierung noch irgendein sonstiges Wirtschaftsunternehmen, geschweige denn Trenitalia, angesprochen zu fühlen; es ist ein generelles Übel im deutschen #ÖPNV:"Ich bin Rollstuhlfahrerin. Vor Kurzem wollte ich mit dem Metronom von Hamburg nach Lüneburg fahren. Ich hatte mich erkundigt, ob ich mit meinem E-Rollstuhl Metronom fahren kann. Es hieß: Ja, das geht klar. Ich habe auf den Zug vorne, wo der Rollstuhlwagen hält, gewartet."

Hmm, is it really so that for two persons, a shared #Trenitalia sleeping-car compartment ("Vagone Letto Relax — Doppio Cabina Intera") Torino–Lecce is 226€, while for a single person by themselves, the same compartment ("Vagone Letto Relax Uso SIngolo — Cabina Intera") is (only) 137€?
Doesn't seem logical to me. Either the double should be cheaper or the single higher.
(Eurail still is not able to sell a reservation for two in the same compartment.)
