Hauled by two Class E402B electrics, top’n’tail, the consist included seat cars, couchettes and a T3 sleeper (one of just a few, it’s got some “Excelsior” cabins with en-suite facilities).

Leaving #Sicily 🇮🇹 for northern #Italy on this #Trenitalia #InterCityNotte, a genuine “cross-country” long distance sleeper service. About 22 hours, if one travels all the way from either #Siracusa or #Palermo through to #Milan.
Settling into the sleeper cabin, which is still in daytime “sofa” configuration. -

It includes ex-Z1 1st and 2nd class cars, and an ex “Gran Confort” one, all rebuilt to 2+2 open plan seating. Plus a T3 (ex-T2s) sleeper and two T4 couchettes (ex UIC-X 1st class compartment seaters).

And we are in the night train for Lecce. This time it wasn’t as scary as when I took the same train in January, when I almost missed it and boarded the train one minute before departure… (Due to own stupidity, didn’t check the time.)
But they had managed to place the carriages in a weird order so for a moment I was scared that our carriage was missing from the train. #intercityNotte #Interrail

Hmm, is it really so that for two persons, a shared #Trenitalia sleeping-car compartment ("Vagone Letto Relax — Doppio Cabina Intera") Torino–Lecce is 226€, while for a single person by themselves, the same compartment ("Vagone Letto Relax Uso SIngolo — Cabina Intera") is (only) 137€?
Doesn't seem logical to me. Either the double should be cheaper or the single higher.
(Eurail still is not able to sell a reservation for two in the same compartment.)
