Sounds excellent. I like teas at the stringer end of the scale, mostly. I had some Lapsang Souchong recently which I really enjoyed (everyone else in my family hated it), but it just doesn’t seem to be very easy to get on Australia. None of the supermarkets seem to have it and I couldn’t find it at my local asian supermarket either.

Look, the Forum Theatre it ain’t.
Maybe, instead of gutting it the could add some extra #Kitsch? Frescos of #Satyrs and #Nymphs. Some #Grottos surrounded by plastic-leafed #Laurel bushes. A giant #Harp that anyone can have a play of if they want. If the decided to go in that direction I reckon I’d be happy to make the trek to #WestBrunswick once in a while.

  4. 🌲🎉 Oh, the riveting excitement of arboreal pageantry! BBC dedicates an article to a Polish beech crowned Tree of the Year, reminding us that even centuries-old flora can win popularity contests. Next up, the thrilling tale of a cactus who overcame all odds to win "Desert Shrub of the Month". 🌵🏆

In general if you’re fairly new to #SingleMalt or prefer you #whisky, milder and smoother, you’re better off with #Speyside whiskeys (IMO). I certainly preferred them when I was first trying scotch whisky.
#Islay Single Malts have a lot of peat and are a much more acquired taste. I tend to prefer them now ~ 🥃🥃
Best neat, or with just a thimbleful of room temp water.

  9. CW: History of Haiku

    History of Haiku
    (Post 1)
Ask anyone to tell you one think they know about haiku and they’ll probably tell you:
“It’s a poem written in 3 lines and 17 syllables
5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second line, and 5 in the third line” (“575Haiku”)
    ~
    But unfortunately this:
1/ Hasn’t actually been true for most of the time people have been writing English language haiku
2/ Isn’t true for most people who write haiku in English today, and publish them in Journals dedicated to haiku, such as Frogpond, Modern Haiku (and many others)
3/ Is based on an almost complete misunderstanding of what Japanese haiku poems are like
    ~
So, how did #575Haiku become so fixed in minds of so many people?
Probably because most people first learn about haiku from a teacher at school, and many teachers think of haiku as just “a great way to teach kids about counting syllables”, and (maybe?) not much more
    ~
Over the next few days I’ll write some more posts that expand on these ideas a little further
And hopefully show that while haiku can be the simple fun poems we often see posted under the #575prompts tag
    Haiku can also be
    a
    whole
    lot
    more
