For my tea ... pasta, with broccoli steamed over it. Onion, garlic and #courgette fried in sesame oil; add minced bird eye chili, sliced mushrooms, tomato, roughly chopped #watercress, a small chopped #PickledLemon, some green peppercorns, a splash of soy sauce. Mix everything together, stir through smoked #feta cheese and #pear slices. Nom. Eat while watching #Huddersfield vs #Warrington #RugbyLeague. For pud ... chocolate #digestives and a pot of #LapsangSouchong #tea. #AccidentalVegetarianism

Yay, my tea order shipped. I notice the dwindling supply with every cup I make.

Lots of backups on hand, but when you get low on the fancy stuff, you start to crave it a bit more.

Forgot to add #LapsangSouchong to the order, and as I'm just enjoying a smokey cup of that now, I noticed that only a couple more servings remain in the tin.

This "2017 prize winning smoked hong cha" (aka Lapsang Souchong aka Zhengshan xiaozhong) is one of the first teas I ordered direct from China. Thankful to have embarked on this tea journey.

Today's midday caffeine is Volcanic Inferno from D&Tea in Bellingham, WA. It's a lapsang souchong blend featuring mango and pineapple, which would have intrigued me enough to order it even if lapsang souchong wasn't my favorite type of tea.

I'd never thought to blend smoke and fruit, but it works well. I hope they continue to make it, although I've seen many boutique companies cut smokey teas as they're somewhat polarizing.

My wife and I are big #tea drinkers. We drink a lot of #EarlGrey, #LadyGrey and #LapsangSouchong

We have been buying Twinings largely out of habit, but now they've stopped making Lapsang, and their "Distinctively Smoky" substitute is no replacement at all.

So: first, where else can I get good Lapsang Souchong at a reasonable price (ideally as teabags but loose is acceptable).

And second, are there better/cheaper Earl Greys and Lady Greys available elsewhere?

I've drunk a lot of "Lapsang Souchong" over the years, but those from Tong Xin She Teahouse remain my favorites, especially this "prize winning" version from 2017. One of the very few where the tea isn't completely overwhelmed by the smoke. Elegant.

The UK seems a little short of #LapsangSouchong tea so I tried #Morrisons online "sorry, not in stock - try Lasagne". #Asda offered an alternative of "Vapes"!!!

Went to a larger supermarket yesterday, Proper Lapsang Souchong has been replaced with 'Inspired by'. Price has not gone down. This was at Asda, but the Sainsbury reviews online are not good at all.
