從石靜遠（Jing Tsu）的《漢字王國》書中得知：
中亞東干人在1930年代使用拉丁字母制訂東干語書寫系統，也就是東干文。東干語以清末陝西、甘肅方言為主，混合俄語、突厥語等，所以東干文就成了蘇聯境內第一個「漢語拉丁化」方案。東干人使用這種新的文字系統寫故事寫詩，還創辦報紙。
當時中共受蘇聯語言文化政策的影響，提出「拉丁化新文字」主張，所以東干文的拉丁化方案經過蘇聯轉手而影響到中共的方案，也因此間接影響了後來的「漢語拼音方案」。
主要參與制訂拉丁化東干文的是東干詩人亞斯爾・十娃子（Iasyr Shivaza），他是東干移民第二代。1950年代以後，受蘇聯新的語言文化政策影響，東干人放棄拉丁拼寫方案，改用西里爾字母，原來的拉丁字母東干文就被稱作「舊東干文」。
現在一般資料介紹 Iasyr Shivaza 的時候，都只說他是重要的東干語詩人，很少提到他用拉丁字母制訂東干文的事。

石靜遠（Jing Tsu）新書Kingdom of Characters: The Language Revolution That Made China Modern，中文譯本《漢字王國》。簡體中文版譯者林華，在聯合國總部擔任翻譯超過三十年。
這本書的最後一章《數字時代的漢文化圈》，講到七八十年代東亞各國制訂「漢字字符集」的歷史，其中有很多競爭。仔細看這一章的簡體中文翻譯，就會發現譯者（或者真理部）如何扭曲英文原文。且舉兩例：
【例一】
原文：Their goal was to give Taiwan a prominent international platform, and they feared the PRC would protest or intervene if it realized Taiwan's strategy.
簡體中文：他們企圖使臺灣在一個重要的國際平臺上獲得合法地位，所以他們害怕一旦中國大陸意識到臺灣當局的陰謀，會提出抗議或出手干預。
//原文Taiwan's strategy，到了簡體中文裡變成「臺灣當局的陰謀」，是不是非常熟悉的詞組？「臺灣當局」是中共官方規定的「涉臺用語」，對應的英文是Taiwan Authorities. 而英文strategy並沒有中文「陰謀」的意思。黨國的洗腦真是無處不在、無孔不入。
【例二】
原文：even though officially it was not a national standard—because Taiwan was not recognized as a nation.
簡體中文：儘管它不是官方的國家標準，因為臺灣是中國的一個省。
//就算要符合「一個中國」論述，Taiwan was not recognized as a nation也可以有更合適的翻譯吧，何必直接說成「臺灣是中國的一個省」？

Yang Guo is constantly getting ganged up on by their spoiled daughter and the two Wu brothers, and Huang Rong doesn’t even ask about his side of it. She’s suspicious of him (because he *is* acting up, having imprinted on creepy and evil Ouyang Feng as his adoptive father figure just before he met them), but she just thinks, “Like father like son.” Argh! Yang Guo didn’t even meet his biological father, Yang Kang!
Guo Jing wants to help him, but mostly because he feels guilty at not saving Yang Kang or helping Yang Guo’s mum when she was sick and alone. At least Huang Rong persuades him not to betrothe him to their daughter just yet (guess which one she’s worried won’t be good enough 🙄). You two. Please shape up before it’s too late. (It is already too late.)
