Current #APastUnearthed status:
1. furious at Huang Rong for single-handedly creating the supervillain she wanted to prevent (please prove me wrong, Yang Guo).
2. falling over laughing at the Chongyang monks calling Guo Jing, the most married demisexual in the jianghu, a lecher. Repeatedly. While he repeatedly, non-violently disarms them and manipulates their Northern Dipper martial array because he has better knowledge of its astronomical underpinnings than they do.

CW: A Past Unearthed, bad parenting
#APastUnearthed: I love Guo Jing and Huang Rong to bits but DAMN, they are terrible parents. 😢
Yang Guo is constantly getting ganged up on by their spoiled daughter and the two Wu brothers, and Huang Rong doesn’t even ask about his side of it. She’s suspicious of him (because he *is* acting up, having imprinted on creepy and evil Ouyang Feng as his adoptive father figure just before he met them), but she just thinks, “Like father like son.” Argh! Yang Guo didn’t even meet his biological father, Yang Kang!
Guo Jing wants to help him, but mostly because he feels guilty at not saving Yang Kang or helping Yang Guo’s mum when she was sick and alone. At least Huang Rong persuades him not to betrothe him to their daughter just yet (guess which one she’s worried won’t be good enough 🙄). You two. Please shape up before it’s too late. (It is already too late.)

Who was it who was talking recently about giving and accepting things with both hands? I just read this passage in #APastUnearthed that mentions it.
I wonder if “in a way that showed total appreciation and gratitude” was added by the translator, to make explicit what would be obvious in the original Chinese?
