Huh. Are the PBLs on Northern Blvd/Broadway any good? Normally I'd take #QueensBlvdPBL/Skillman to get to #LIC, but just noticed that google maps suggests a slightly longer (by .1mi) but less hilly route. I know portions of broadway are still shitty (but then again so are portions of queens blvd).

I was bored...
And so, I am continuing my efficacy of #NYPD enforcement of moving violations for #TrafficViolence investigation.
Very basic for now, but I have a scatterplot.Going to build up these pandas arrays (add in camera enforcement, temperature, precipitation, ???) and see what falls out of a random forest.
My thoughts: traffic violence low correlation to moving violation enforcement

I got excited thinking that this would be a nice N-S and E-W network of protected bike lanes in a place that didn't have any before, but then I saw that the E-W route was a "conventional bike lane".
It's 2023, drivers park on every available surface in #NYC, and we're installing brand new paint-only bike lanes while we also have a legal mandate to install #PBLs. Such 💩.

Opposite Billings Lawn somewhat north of Inspiration Point on the Empire State Trail roughly at GPS coordinates 40°51'36.3"N 73°56'07.6"W or 40.860078, -73.935440 there is a terribly narrow pinch point. 9A has three driving lanes AND immense breakdown lane. There's been consideration to opening one or both of the currently closed tunnels beneath #WashingtonHeights (178th, 179th street) that serviced the #GeorgeWashingtonBridge before the #CrossBronxExpressway was built as #bikenyc tunnels. Would connect the east side greenway running along the Harlem River with the west side greenway at the #LittleRedLighthouse on the Hudson River.
Do a light show too?
Plans in 2004 to reactivate to reduce vehicle congestion.

#Daffodils planted as bulbs late last fall are up on #WestSideHighway Southbound at 100th and along #CherryWalk at 100th. Distinctly, planted them last fall along the highway because within a few years that outer lane will become a #bikenyc lane. Each year I will extend the planting. Good rich soil. Bicyclists move slow enough to appreciate it.

A few weeks ago I wandered into a #BikeDelivery wonderland. I didn't have time to stop to chat with them for more info, but this block in midtown #Manhattan had tons of people using #URB-E trailers for last-mile #delivery by #bike.
There was a mix of different bikes, but most looked like rebranded Terns. Not the best video, but I counted at least 20 bikes + trailers with different trailer setups (some large boxes, others w/ plastic tote containers, etc).
