But not for #bikes? #NYCbike #bikeNYC routes prioritize safety.
These are unsafe truck route 1, 2, or 3 are the options- wish they would update. (Or anyone have hints?)
I am putting my typical route from citibike (which shows my #bike speed/travel time being half of mapquests)

I was biking near the queens zoo today, and adjusting the pedal-assist all the way up to 4 (which I never do). Thinking to myself, "Jesus fuck, is this headwind really that strong or is this heat just making me weak?"
I look over at the sidewalk, and someone is walking backwards to deal with the wind. "Oh, it's actually the headwind."

#QueensZoo needs to ditch these awful bike racks and install staple racks. This same amount of space could fit at least a dozen bikes, but the "wheel bender" rack is just space inefficient.

The #bike path connecting Upper Manhattan to lower Manhattan is at risk of closing.
Again.
Because a teeny, yet mightily important, bike-and-pedestrian only bridge crossing the Amtrak tracks near the George Washington Bridge has taken more than 17 years to even begin planning.
Turns out the plywood and 2"x4" plank temporary patch was only temporary. And its now degraded to a dangerous state.

Two young men in their 30s were killed today on the Queensboro Bridge in the bike lane. One of them was riding an illegal scooter going insanely fast. The photos are enough to shake a daily bike commuter like me enough and compel me to post this. I hope real regulation happens soon regarding illegal scooters (and for that matter, straight up motorcycles) in NYC bike lanes.

I'm walking through queens plaza and I run into my wife, who's biking on the queensboro bike path. She stops for maybe two mins while I adjust her bike brakes. Someone biking by yells, "go on a date or something, but get out of the bike lane!"

It’s weird to me that taking a cab on short haul (<3 miles) trips with two people is cheaper than a #citibike - I knew they didn’t get subsidies, but I didn’t realize they pay extra to operate in #nyc 🤷♀️ 💡 #bikeNYC should be cheaper than a cab.

#nypd continues to occupy the #columbia neighborhood in #nyc
Hard to capture the number of #nypd and cop cars of every size on every block from my bike.
And the #press covering how the protestors prevent folks from getting around … is itself occupying the public #bikenyc #citibike station actually interfering w peoples ability to get around.
It feels like it’s an occupied zone.
I am feeling shame and sadness this morning.
