There's been consideration to opening one or both of the currently closed tunnels beneath #WashingtonHeights (178th, 179th street) that serviced the #GeorgeWashingtonBridge before the #CrossBronxExpressway was built as #bikenyc tunnels. Would connect the east side greenway running along the Harlem River with the west side greenway at the #LittleRedLighthouse on the Hudson River.

  12. I lived in #WashingtonHeights near the #GeorgeWashingtonBridge for a while. I loved that bridge and walked it often.

    One time during my walk I saw a bald eagle perched on a strut of the bridge. I asked it out loud, "really? You're really going to be *that* American eagle hanging out on the *George Washington* Bridge? You don't think that's too on-the-nose?"

    He didn't answer me, he just flew away, but I believe he knew what I was getting at and felt sufficiently called out on his bullshit.
