Thanks to friends, neighbors, communities and volunteer marshals, we had a safe and fun March Against the Casino and Public Hearing!

Our Queens reps backed a casino at Citi Field, but they still don’t have a license. We need to keep up pressure so the state doesn’t grant one.

What can you do?

IT'S HERE! TODAY!

Our reps sold us out and tried to silence us. Online trolls threatened us. But we will not be silenced or intimidated. We will stand up for Queens, our neighborhoods, our communities, our friends and elders and children.

MARCH AGAINST THE CITI FIELD CASINO
starting at 1pm at Corona Plaza
marching to the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park for a People's Hearing on the casino

Anonymous trolls threatened violence against the family-friendly March Against the Casino.

It's been reported, so there may be more police, and also safety + deescalation support. Please do what feels safe for you.

But we won’t be intimidated. This march will be peaceful: full of music, bubbles, kids, and joy. Not a place for hate; a place for community power.

🚶‍♀️ Sunday Oct 5 · 1 PM
📍 Start: Corona Plaza → end at the Unisphere for a people’s hearing at 2:30 PM

Come stand against Steve Cohen’s casino.

Our Queens reps backed a Citi Field casino — but no license yet. Let’s keep the pressure on so the state denies it.

🚫🎰 NO CASINO IN OUR COMMUNITY! 🎰🚫

This Sunday, neighbors from Flushing, Corona, Jackson Heights, East Elmhurst, Elmhurst and beyond are coming together to say LOUD AND CLEAR:

Public land is for the PEOPLE — not for billionaire casinos.

We refuse to gamble away our:

✅ Parks
✅ Housing
✅ Transit access
✅ Local small businesses
✅ Future

A casino will not bring “opportunity.” It will bring traffic, addiction, displacement, and harm to working-class immigrant neighborhoods that already carry more than our share.

📢 Join us in the streets!

👋 Hey everyone, it’s Megan. I want to talk to you about the Citi Field casino proposal.

At the so-called public hearings this month, our neighbors were silenced. Early speaking slots went to former electeds, staff, and paid supporters. Community members who came to oppose the project waited for hours, and most never even got a chance to speak.

Manhattan and Brooklyn are already saying no to casinos. Now it’s time for Queens to do the same!

That’s why we’re joining the March Against the Casino and People’s Public Hearing on Sunday, October 5th. We’ll gather at Corona Plaza at 1 PM and march to the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park for a real public hearing. This is our chance to show Queens doesn’t want or need this casino.

Here’s what you can do:

1️⃣ RSVP to march with us!
tinyurl.com/NoCasinoMarch

2️⃣ Send your comments against the casino to [email protected] ASAP! If you want help writing yours, let me know! This decision is being made on Sept 30th.

One more thing: we need volunteer marshals to help keep the march safe and organized. No experience needed; we’ll train you and pair you with someone experienced. If you can help, let me know!

Let’s make sure Queens’ voice is heard loud and clear: No casino at Citi Field!

Community support for the Citi Field casino is manufactured. We don’t need a casino preying on us, we need real investment instead! Submit your comments ASAP to [email protected]. #jacksonheights #queensny #nocitifieldcasino #nonyccasinos #corona #flushing #eastelmhurst

Jackson Heights Indivisible as part of the FED-UP Coalition has been fighting against the Citi Field casino proposal all year. With the public hearings over, we're gearing up for...

🥁MARCH AGAINST THE CASINO🥁
📆 Sunday, October 5th
⏰ 1 PM
📍 Meet at Corona Plaza…
🌐 March to Flushing Meadows Corona Park Unisphere for THE PEOPLE’S PUBLIC HEARING!

This month our neighbors were cheated out of their chance to speak against the Citi Field casino proposal. At two public hearings, lines were filled up with paid supporters, Hard Rock staff, and politicians while opposers were forced to wait. They ran out the clock so neighbors who wanted to object never got a turn. And when opposers called out this orchestration, they were threatened or thrown out under the fallacy of ‘disrespect’.

Join us to have your voice heard!
