👋 Hey everyone, it’s Megan. I want to talk to you about the Citi Field casino proposal.

At the so-called public hearings this month, our neighbors were silenced. Early speaking slots went to former electeds, staff, and paid supporters. Community members who came to oppose the project waited for hours, and most never even got a chance to speak.

Manhattan and Brooklyn are already saying no to casinos. Now it’s time for Queens to do the same!

That’s why we’re joining the March Against the Casino and People’s Public Hearing on Sunday, October 5th. We’ll gather at Corona Plaza at 1 PM and march to the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park for a real public hearing. This is our chance to show Queens doesn’t want or need this casino.

2️⃣ Send your comments against the casino to [email protected] ASAP! If you want help writing yours, let me know! This decision is being made on Sept 30th.

One more thing: we need volunteer marshals to help keep the march safe and organized. No experience needed; we’ll train you and pair you with someone experienced. If you can help, let me know!
