  9. I ran the same job past three different AI providers and had them vote on the answer. For a hobby project about a Sunday night D&D game.

Extravagant, I know, until you look at the job. Scout listens to a session and turns it into campaign facts, and every proper noun in that transcript was invented that week by someone sat at the table. No world knowledge to fall back on.

And extraction is a write, not a read. A wrong fact sits in the store being wrong, looking exactly as confident as the right ones.

The three models didn't fail more or less than each other, they failed in different directions. That's what a panel is for. Three copies of one model just give you the same answer three times with a rosette on it!

The voting mechanism is about forty lines. What cost me a weekend was working out when two facts are the same fact. Two models, the same thirty seconds of play, the same three invented names... and each had bundled different extra facts into the statement.

I thought the problem was picking the right model. It was working out what a fact is.

  14. Sending the same CV to every job is quicker, but a lightly tailored one usually reads as a much better fit. Tailoring doesn't have to mean rewriting from scratch each time. A workable approach: • Keep a master CV with everything in it: every role, project, skill and result. For each application you cut and reorder from it rather than writing new material. • Read the advert and pick out the three or four things they clearly care about most. These are usually listed first or mentioned more than once. • Rewrite your profile at the top in two or three lines so it speaks to those things directly. • Reorder the bullets under each job so the most relevant come first, and trim the ones that don't help this application. • Use their wording where it honestly describes what you did. If they say "stakeholder management" and your CV says "worked with other teams", say it their way. • Save each version with the company name and date, so you know exactly what they're looking at when they call. Once the master CV exists, each version is a quick edit rather than a rewrite. If you use CareerHelper.pro, its job-match scoring gives you a quick read on how well your CV lines up with an advert before you send it. How do you approach tailoring at the moment, and is there a part of it you'd like a hand with? #CVTips#JobSearch#JobApplications#CareerAdvice

  18. I’m feeling the same identity erasure that I blogged about in first year. Where I rarely hear my own voice, rarely make others laugh, rarely do anything to prove myself to be anything. Except my loneliness was a lot easier to romanticize in first year cause it took the form of 1am wanderings at the apex of parkades rather than uhh… fears of screen-induced myopia.
