  6. @moira @mxchara Yeah fair point, thanks for sharing. I certainly could have done without a lot of the parts that were problematic from a gender perspective, but that sort of thing doesn't typically ruin a movie for me. (Sometimes it would. Depends on how bad it is.)

    I felt like Waterworld took a kinda nonsense premise and created a relatively coherent story from it - like, for the most part, if I overlook the lack of realism in a fully water-covered world, it does make some sense to me why the characters were making the decisions they did and why events were happening as they did in Waterworld, whereas in Solarbabies I couldn't fathom why most things were happening. That's probably the biggest factor for me personally, at least when comparing these two movies.

    Granted, that's because all the stuff that would make a movie actually good was missing from both 😅
