Am I supposed to manually copy the contents of PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy files found in Swift packages or does Xcode merge that data with my own file? For instance I use DeviceKit and it has a privacy file. To me it seems obvious that Xcode should merge the data as why should I have to dig into the inner workings of packages and manually copy data? On the other hand, this is Xcode and it’s notoriously stupid.

Note to self: how to configure the network manually on #QubesOS AppVM: use
qubesdb-read <path>to read these paths/qubes-ip,/qubes-gateway,/qubes-ip6,/qubes-gateway6. If you can't usequbesdb-readbecause the AppVM has no #Qubes daemons running, you have a bigger problem.
In systemd-networkd, the usual configuration format is:[Match] Name=eth0 [Network] Address=<IPv4> Gateway=<IPv4> Address=<IPv6> Gateway=<IPv6>
But QubesOS AppVMs have IP addresses with /32 or /128 netmasks, I guess it's a basic firewall, so the router is not in the subnet, so systemd-networkd doesn't work. In this case, you need:[Network] Address=<IPv4>/32 Address=<IPv6>/128 [Route] Gateway=<IPv4> GatewayOnLink=yes [Route] Gateway=<IPv6> GatewayOnLink=yes -

It doesn't stop until the motor-timeout is hit, *or* I manually disable motors - at which point the ticking instantly stops.
Any idea why the steppers are still being activated after the print is complete? Does it serve a purpose? Seems like a waste of energy, and needless stress on the hardware.

Question for #android users relying on #fdroid, #aurora and other stores on an un-googled phone: have you found a trick to launch app updates without having to manually hit the "install" button for everyone of them?
I find myself stuck in front of my phone for 15 minutes everytime I have 30 apps to update, just to validate, it's pretty annoying. -

Scale does not introduce new mechanics. It introduces more instances of the same ones. What breaks at ten thousand broke at ten, and someone absorbed it manually. Every scaling failure is a manual compensation that stopped working.

Bash can be a lifesaver!
I had a problem with citations in Zotero. Whenever I added a citation to my paper, sometimes the references got corrupted. I had to correct them manually.
Finally, I decided to solve this problem. While searching for a solution, I saw Richard's solution (https://bsky.app/profile/rmcelreath.bsky.social/post/3knkqvogwbc25) and decided to write a Bash script to automate this approach.
Now, I can get a corrected BibTeX file via this tiny Bash script.

Ah, the #irony of a "better" Hacker News reader requiring JavaScript! 😂 Because, of course, nothing screams "superior tech" like turning off AI and manually fiddling with search filters. 🙄 Bravo, you've reinvented the web circa 1995. 👏

Alright, that's a bit too much. Over 70 requests for joining our server from bots in a day.
We need to approve the requests manually, but I wonder what's happening to those servers without manual approval out there...

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release:
#TfL has disclosed that 41 of the 112,457 currently licensed private hire drivers applied for their licence using a non-UK driving licence. However, TfL said it cannot report on a further 10,424 records without manually checking each one, due to an issue with its reporting system.
TfL said applicants must be at least 21 and have held a full DVLA, Northern Ireland or eligible EU/EEA driving licence for at least three years. The licensing process also considers serious traffic offences, penalty points, repeat motoring convictions and previous disqualifications.
TfL said all licensed drivers must meet its requirements and believes the number of non-UK licences among the unverified records is likely to be very low and broadly proportionate to the reported figure.

I had to spend some time on a Windoze 11 machine yesterday. A nasty little worm had managed to take over the Chrome browser. It had removed the Google search engine entry, and when you entered that manually tried to send you to a blacklisted site. It also had taken over the new tab function to do the same.
Fortunately an anti-virus package was blocking the redirect as the site in Blacklisted.

#Jackett gives me this problem where if I leave it alone at some point for no reason I can discern the service stops. This is naturally frustrating if I ever want to manually push something through #Radarr or check up on #Sonarr.
I checked updates and I was "very" behind. So i updated. ehh pretty nice. Then it happened again. Logs only go back to boot. Need a way to see logs when it crashed but  I'll work on it maybe I might reinstall or something.

#GoogleChrome silently installs 4GB of #AI models, #GeminiNano, on users’ computers for features like scam detection and “Help me write.” This installation happens in the #background and can be deleted manually, but Chrome will re-download it unless the “#ondeviceAI” #setting is disabled. https://9to5google.com/2026/05/06/google-chrome-4gb-storage-ai-details/?eicker.news #tech #media #news

Welp, finished Watch Dogs 2 some minutes ago, for the third time now.
1st playthrough was back in June 2022 and I think I played on normal diff. I played the game A MONTH after manually installing Arch Linux lol, which is still the same install I use right now.
I only had a Ryzen 3 1300X, a GTX 1050 Ti and 16 gigs of RAM. I was also streaming on Twitch that and at the time. I really wanted to see Ultra Textures back then.

New #blog post: Using #woodpecker #CI to publish Static Sites
I've moved some of my sites over to a gitops workflow: rather than manually copying drafts over for committing I now just commit and push them before leaving CI to do the rest
Post details what I did for both #Nikola and #Hugo sites as well as how I flush the #BunnyCDN cache
