Das, liebe Stadt #Flensburg ist übrigens ein #Radweg; merkt ihr was? Da stehen gar keine Schilder, Laternen, Bushaltehäuschen drauf (Autos, E-Roller, etc)! Der Trecker kann da mit 40 Klamotten einfach lang rauschen!
Und hier hab ich im Herbst schon Angst, dass ich mal bremsen oder ausweichen muss, weil ich vor lauter nassem Laub den "Radweg" kaum sehe...

After 25 minutes of #WinterBiking back home from work during slight snowfall, I thought, I have a #WinterCycling #beard ❄️🧔 like @pekkatahkola, but it still was more wet than frosty. Had to wipe my glasses with the gloves several times during the ride though. Was fun nevertheless. ❄️😎

Nicht nur auf der Louise-Schröder-Straße, auch z.B. auf der angrenzenden Holstenstraße und der nahen Thadenstraße (eine Fahrradstraße), wo es laut Geoportal eigentlich einen Winterdienst geben soll, wurde zunächst gar nicht geräumt.
Vor kann einer Woche wurde dann z.B. auf der Holstenstraße ausschließlich der – nicht gerade sehr breite – Radweg freigeräumt, nicht der Fußweg daneben. Die Folge war dann, dass die Fußgänger:innen natürlich auch den Radweg benutzt haben und es dort entsprechend eng wurde.
Wirklich beschämend für die "Fahrradstadt" Hamburg mit "Mobilitätswende"-Behörde.
Der finnische Stadtplaner Pekka Tahkola über die nötigen Prioritäten bei der Schneeräumung im Spiegel-Interview:
"Ein Fuhrpark für den Winterdienst wie bei uns nah am Polarkreis lohnt sich für deutsche Städte vielleicht nicht. Aber das bisschen Schnee, das selten mal fällt, zu beseitigen, sollten sie hinbekommen. Wenn sie das nicht tun, zeigen sie einfach, wen sie schützen wollen und wen nicht. Vor allem Fußgänger brauchen den Winterdienst noch dringender als Radfahrer, aber Autofahrer müssen wirklich nicht an erster Stelle stehen. […]
Man muss zuerst die Rad- und Fußwege räumen, sobald es schneit. Der Schnee darf gar nicht erst liegen bleiben, sonst wird er kompakt und rutschig. Außerdem wird eine dicke Schneedecke ein Albtraum, wenn sie irgendwann taut. Und schon gar nicht darf sie von Autos in ungleichmäßige Hubbel gepresst werden, die dann vereisen. Darauf ist Radfahren einfach gefährlich."

@pekkatahkola Thanks for the tip. We'll try again today. If it helps to have a few tourists write a letter to the city council or someone else about a public bikesharing system, please let me know. We have set up a bikesharing system (#SprottenFlotte) in the Kiel region that is available throughout the entire region. Bikes can also be rented from the same provider in locations 20 km away. With your extensive bike network in the region, something like this could also be a great thing here.

We also have dedicated weather stations and cameras for 🚲🚶 traffic only as well, and it's sometimes nice to look at the cameras, although they only snap one photo every five minutes. It's been snowing for some hours now again, and the 24/7 maintenance works great. This photo was snapped right now at 01:30 am, and that path has already been plowed twice today.

It is rather beautiful here in Oulu 🇫🇮, right now. Absolutely no filters needed at all 🤌
-20°C, wind chill -28°C.This is one of our main cycling and walking routes (#8) and here we have a 5 km stretch with ZERO at-grade crossings with motor traffic. I repeat, it's physically impossible to meet any motor traffic here. So it is very peaceful, safe and comfortable to ride and walk completely uninterrupted. Just bliss.
