Here’s the latest state of a WIP prototype branch. We’re still going to do a design pass to improve things; maybe removing the card styling of results (since each section isn’t activatable, but results within are).

There’s more to do, and again: this light style is an off-by-default accessibility setting that I’ve been testing with to ensure it will work, but we don’t plan to ship a light shell by default in 51 afaik.

But you can at least see some progress. :)

It’s more spatial (the search results come from somewhere instead of just… taking over) but for light style users like me: it should actually be more accessible, too!

Ce qui me désole c'est que le #dev, en charge de la validation des extensions #GnomeShell , a été obligé de préciser "ne publier pas si vous ne comprenez pas le #javascript".

Genre : "prenez pas la voiture si vous ne savez pas conduire" ! 🤪

J'ai peur qu'à force de voir autant d'horreurs #IA ils finissent en burn-out.

Je viens de désinstaller une #extension #GnomeShell après l'avoir testée 5-10 minutes.

Elle était plutôt sympa, même si elle ne faisait que ce que 4-5 autres extensions font depuis des années (monitoring du système).

Le code était propre (presque trop propre).

Pourquoi la désinstaller alors ?

Parce qu'elle a été "co-écrite" par #Claude #IA (la bio de l'auteur a aussi joué).

Un choix politique, pas technique donc.

Comment voulez-vous pousser les gens à s'investir plus si leur travail pète tous les six mois ?!

Avec mon passage à Ubuntu 26.04 et GNOME 50, l'extension Pano que j'utilisais comme gestionnaire de presse papier ne fonctionne malheureusement plus...

Je me suis donc tourné vers Copyous qui est pas mal également. J'aime bien la possibilité d'éditer directement le contenu du presse papier, c'est pratique !

Today's #GNOMEShell performance finding on my desktop computer: the strange ~3-4 seconds delay I was experiencing between pressing "Enter" on the unlock screen and the time the screen locking shield disappears (when you can see the desktop) had nothing to do with my GPU… It was caused mainly by these two extensions:

* "Astra Monitor" causing a 1 second delay: https://github.com/AstraExt/astra-monitor/issues/39#issuecomment-4107553146
