Kíváncsi leszek, mi lesz a vége!

TID: Finally achieved geometric peace in my Hyprland setup. Swapped to a centred master layout (50/25/25 split) to avoid my windows dancing around every time I open a reference terminal.

I have hyprland on my lab pc (considering a switch to niri), and just had a situation in which I couldn't get gamepads to work no matter what I did.
Solution: make sure I had the `input` group so I had permission to access `/dev/input/*`...... * facepalms * 🤦♀️

pkgforge is a very promising project.
It uses a package manager called Soar to create centralized repositories for AppImage, FlatImage, static binaries, and more. It installs them into their own directories with checksum verification and transparent build logs.
I love the idea of a central hub for all these portable formats. It makes things so much easier for the user.

Is there a modern alternative to dbus-monitor? Something where the output is just a little more readable?

KDE Plasma 6.5 brings quick settings toggles!
KDE Plasma 6.5 is an upcoming KDE desktop environment version that brings a ton of awesome features that make it easier to use than the current Plasma 6.4 desktop. This version is a promising release that will improve your Plasma desktop with many improvements and new features.
Last week, the team showcased the day/night theme switching for wallpapers where the desktop would automatically switch between day and night themes based on the time of the day in your location. This week, the KDE development team brought some of the most interesting changes that allow you to quickly configure your system right from the Settings app.
In the settings sidebar, pages in the System Settings app can now interact with the parent window, making quick toggles and other exported actions possible. This is to save time from having to go to a settings section to be able to, for example, turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Currently, this is only rolled out to Bluetooth settings, but, in future development iterations of Plasma 6.5, Wi-Fi and other settings should use this feature soon.
The pages can also mark themselves as “not relevant” when certain conditions for accessing the settings page are not met. For example, if a settings page requires certain hardware, and your PC doesn’t have it, that page will no longer be accessible. This saves time from having to go to a certain settings page when you discover that none of the options there are relevant for your PC.
KDE Plasma 6.5 will be released later this year, and it includes many bug fixes and general improvements that make your desktop more stable and reliable.
