  1. The movie "A Working Man" (2025) is an absolutely ludicrous, overreaching piece. A poor yet overly-complex plot has literally one saving grace - pictured below.

  2. Today was *gorgeous*! I hiked 30km (North Shields to Blyth and back) in the not-too-hot sunshine all the way 😁 A very little bit of a cool breeze made all the difference!

  3. I jogged 4 lengths of this sandy boi this morning. It might not be much by some folks' standards, but it's real progress for me 😀

  4. 's gorgeous (just around the corner from King Edwards Bay) looks fantastic today, under unsullied blue skies with a fresh cool breeze 😎

  5. Not a bad view for the halfway point of the morning's walk.

  6. This is a great little pub in , near the fish quay.

It had a recent refit and rebrand (I forget its former name), which sadly reduced the space available as they closed the upper floors. But getting served is so much faster, as they now have all the same staff behind the downstairs bar!

Someone mentioned that staff *do* occasionally disappear, only to be replaced by identical folx; but I've never noticed it happening.

The best thing is that their prices keep dropping each month!

  7. This weekend I'm setting up my new as a -based router-on-a-stick for my office network. I'm starting by seeing if will be flexible enough (as well as learning the OS!), or if I'll have to fall back to vanilla | instead - assuming they support line speed for the 2.5GBps Ethernet port. Failing that: . simplynuc.co.uk/zircon/

  8. Here's a short thread of some coastal photos I took whilst up from to today (and back again). 33.3km, my phone tells me, but I suspect it's overestimating a bit ... 🧵 1/2

  9. I can't believe it was trying to drizzle when I set out this morning! Absolutely gorgeous on right now 🤩

  10. Earlier this week I from to - over the , and up and down . A fantastic ~18km in great weather ... with a *lot* of hills! 98 "flights of stairs" total, according to my phone 😮‍💨😅😅

  11. Here are some photos from the open day that happened yesterday. The weather was fantastic, the volunteers were really friendly and welcoming, the cake stall was dreadfully sinful (sin level: death by chocolate) ... and the mill itself was amazing to climb inside! There are 5 more open days in 2024: check out their site and come along! wheatleymill.co.uk/

  12. The turned the other cheek today, and is showing off its profile!

Don't forget that it's the windmill's open day this coming Sunday (May 12th), and the weather looks lovely! Come along and have a close up look at this fabulous chonkster 😁

  13. This chonky boi is the , near , who's having his cleanup and inspection before his next monthly open day, on May 12th. You can come see him on the 2nd Sunday between May and October, where (from memory) you get to climb up inside 😀 It's a really nice place to visit - come and check it out!

  14. A fantastic bit of weather for a up and around , through , over to grab lunch in , and back over Shotover and down to .

  15. Today I went along the 😀 I managed to go 13 miles, though it was a really hard slog at the end!
I went past Wayland's Smithy, Castle, and a LOT of hedgerows ... here's a little thread of photos I took:

    1) Wayland's Smithy

  16. I went on a 20km in the warm autumn sunshine today, passing through , , and .
Here are a couple of pics I took along the way ...

  17. And I'm done: 25km of from Goring to Court Hill. I'm spent.

  18. A fantastic 10 mile to and from , at the Eastern end of the , took most of the day, and left me really /really/ tired from the hills - but happy and satisfied tired!

  19. Well, that was *a hike*! I tried some new (to me) paths around , , , and . Most of them were nicely kempt, but some were absolutely dire - broken stiles, invisible paths, etc!
I wonder if there's any way to fix them ...

  20. Happy to report that my shiny new (super low-end!) 192|4 works out of the box on over , both as a and as an -in.

As an newb, I mostly chose it for the big knob in the middle!

Now I know it's working (and won't need to be returned) I might even take the plastic cladding off the front panel+knob ... 😱

  21. I went on a mini-hike today with an old friend from uni, along part of the , walking North from Swyncombe Church. It was glorious! The church was lovely, too, but I didn’t snap any photos inside.

  22. CW: Missing cat: FOUND!

I’m absolutely delighted to report that Buster the has returned home! After a mere 2 SODDING WEEKS on the run, he’s back home and, as you can see, has wasted no time in putting his paws up for a damn good sleep! Such fantastic news - it’s honestly made my whole week!!

  23. CW: Missing cat

My sister’s lovely, adopted-from-the-streets Buster went missing a few days ago from his home in England. If you might have seen him, please do get in touch with me. [I wish I could give more geographic detail, but I can’t.]

  24. Folx who speak as a : which of these terms best communicates "an unordered set of unrelated things" to *you*? (Where "best" means "needs me to do the smallest amount of internal translation & thinking, when I hear it" ...) ! (Please also reply with better options if they make more sense to you, personally!)

  25. What or should replace ?
