  1. Great African empires

In this episode of “Lumumba’s Africa,” Professor PLO #Lumumba explores the #historical significance of the #African continent, which was the cradle of some of the greatest #empires, including the #Egyptian, #Songhai, #Benin, and #Yoruba empires, among others across the Mother Continent. While these #civilizations flourished, they suffered devastating impacts due to slavery and #colonization. However, some of these #kingdoms, such as the #Zulu Kingdom, #Oyo, and the #Waganda Kingdom, still exist today. The professor #emphasizes the importance of keeping the #legacies of #African kingdoms alive through discussion and #storytelling, as this will help unite Africa and contribute to a brighter future for the continent.
