It's the Day of Ares / Mars' Day / #Tuesday! 🗡️

For #BlackHistoryMonth, I'm introducing African deities in my daily god toots. In #Yoruba religion, #Ogun is the #Orisha of war and metals. His primary symbols are iron, the dog, and the palm branch. He is said to have cleared a path for the other #Orishas to enter Earth using a metal axe and the assistance of a dog. The Fon people say he was sent to Earth to make it a suitable place for humans to live happily but he hasn't yet finished this task.

We are almost done with preparing to cross the South Atlantic back to Cape Town. We got our rigging checked and our winches are serviced. We also made an offering to Yemọja and got to experience and celebrate some of the Yoruba religion here in João Pessoa, Brazil.
