If you ever see a #translation that's unclear or confusing, don't always assume the #translator is bad. It could just be that they lost the battle.

I generally make it a point of pride to advocate for readers of my translations—almost to a fault. But sometimes, you just have to throw up your hands and say, so be it.

Asking an experienced #translator to revise machine translations is like giving an experienced chef a McDonald's happy meal and asking them to turn it into a gastronomic experience. It's soul destroying.
When all the competent chefs switch careers because they find the work distasteful (ahem), all that remains is fast food.
AI has its uses, but its misuse will destroy expertise in translation on an unprecedented scale. But hey, it was a great career while it lasted.
