[FR] C'est toujours un plaisir de découvrir le livre que l’on a réalisé en physique ! Voici le roman de Mardi Forestier, *Avale-tout*. Il s'agit du deuxième livre de la collection de science-fiction de @ateliertemeraire. Ce livre a été réalisé grâce aux technologies « web-to-print » (nous comptons désormais deux collections produites selon ces techniques).

It’s the second book for the science-fiction collections of @ateliertemeraire . The book is made with web-to-print technologies (now we have 2 collections made with this technics).

@adalanerd @sarahgarcin Super page, et super projet. J’ai quelques exemples de “cosy collective coding”, surtout pour du web to print. Mais j’avoue que les résultats étaient beaucoup plus chaotiques. C’est très intéressant (et pas facile) d’aller dans une direction commune et bravo pour ça. Last Wednesday, my fellow XPUB1 classmates and me wrapped up the trimester with a collective folding, binding, and paginating party to make A_Mazing Machine[s]: Wordscapes to Liberate Language, the printed publication of our Special Issue 28!

My first few months at @xpub have been incredible. I am so proud of my classmates, the work we did together, and what we learned. I am also very grateful to our tutors, who have been super kind and inspiring!

All information, plus a PDF of the printed version, made with WeasyPrint is available on this Eleventy website we created to share all the things that we explored. It mirrors our incredible, legendary wiki. It was very interesting and insightful, so I published my notes about Using MediaWiki as a CMS for Eleventy.

That’s a shame we cannot access this within a normal web page (or even in straight css print, since browsers never implemented it properly).

It's always a bit intimidating to arrive alone and late at the party but here we go, mastodon!

As an #artist and #researcher I critically examine #technology from a social, cultural and political perspective. I create projects that usually explore the transposition of #surveillance and control phenomenons happening on the #web into physical, material, and performed spaces.

As a #graphicDesigner and adjunct professor I focus on designing (& teaching how to design) #artistBooks #zines #experimental #publications and more recently #webtoprint publications. I'm also passionate about lightweight, #handmade and artistic #websites.

Today and tomorrow is the kick-off meeting of the EPE program (Écran, papier, éditer) at Ésad·Valence. This is a two-years project about developing web-to-print technologies in teaching contexts involving design studies (art schools and faculties, but also engineering schools).

Adobe seems to have figured out that I use unlicensed (cracked) software and never paid a cent to them. In 10 days (if this threat becomes real) will start my experiment into replacing my design tools by Free / open-source alternatives. I will probably give some insight on that process over here, if some of you are interested.

I mainly use Photoshop, Lightroom, Indesign and Illustrator, so they are the ones I'm looking to replace... Curious to experiment with #webtoprint, #gimp, #inkscape, #scribus, #affinity, etc.
