Jens has an interesting thought, and despite me being still very sceptical abput the "AI"fication of everything (and shaking fists at clouds), this kind of resonates:
(…) as the web matured, development splintered into more and more specialized roles—frontend, backend, full-stack, DevOps, UX. By the 2010s, the all-encompassing “webmaster” felt dead, and you and I probably haven’t seen the title used since.
But is it really dead?
I believe that with the advent of AI, we are about to experience a renaissance.
(…) AI enables and leverages, but the webmaster orchestrates and takes the responsibility.
(…) Call it speculation, call it Web romanticism—the power of an AI-augmented generalist who owns their work is valuable, and will be hard to ignore. If one person can successfully wield that much capability, maybe the webmaster isn’t dead after all—maybe they’re leveling up, and the real time for the webmaster is yet to come.

RT @brodieseo: Achtung: Die Indizierung von Daten für Seiten in der Search Console ist seit Wochen verzögert – wir haben seit dem 13. Juni nur noch 3 eindeutige Datenpunkte. Obwohl das Reporting kürzlich aktualisiert wurde (die letzte Aktualisierung war für den 24. Juli) nach erheblichen Verzögerungen, sind die Daten in Ihrem Dashboard immer noch nicht korrekt. Ich sehe dasselbe Muster auf allen Websites, auf die ich in der Search Console Zugriff habe. Die Indizierungsdaten sind für jeden dieser Zeiträume identisch: - 11. Juli - 24. Juli (14 Tage) - 1. Juli - 10. Juli (10 Tage) - 13. Juni - 30. Juni (18 Tage) Während es nicht ungewöhnlich ist, dass Datenpunkte für kurze Zeiträume ähnlich sind, auch bei extrem großen Websites, gibt es eindeutig ein Problem mit dem Reporting, bei dem wir wochenlang keine genauen Daten erhalten. Dies ist aus Analysensicht problematisch, da es bedeutet, dass Sie viel länger warten müssen, als nötig, um eine Aktualisierung der Indizierungsdaten nach Änderungen zu sehen, sodass die Ergebnisse weitaus dramatischer wirken als die Realität. Wenn Sie also massive Zunahmen oder Abnahmen bei den Indizierungsdaten über Nacht beobachten, ist es wahrscheinlicher, dass diese Veränderungen eher graduell waren und Sie nur Daten für den Zeitpunkt der letzten Aktualisierung des Reportings sehen (nicht die „letzte Aktualisierung“-Anmerkung). Turns out that AI bot protection isn't even a big problem anymore — residential proxies are, and the really aggressive scraping is hard to detect and block. A bit disappointing then that @cloudflare doesn't seem to have much in store to help against those. An increasing number seems to get past the Managed Challenge easily too, it seems.
And kind of ironic that, with most "normal" ISPs all renting out IP blocks to web scraping companies (residential proxies), VPNs and private relays/anonymizers have become more trustworthy traffic sources for website owners. 🤷🏻♂️
Either way, "AI" and scraping are the death of the open internet and free flow of information because it's clogging all the pipes.

Updated the blog and linkdump of my website.
The linkdump went without a hitch, but the blog was a little troublesome.
Lesson: Always use a dedicated FTP client, and dont use the ftp client of your filemanager
Also: the new flatpress update can now also run a mastodon plugin!
