"The NAACP is suing the U.S. Department of Education over recent efforts to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs in schools. In a federal complaint filed in Washington, D.C., the organization alleges that the Department of Education’s recent directives are unconstitutional and discriminatory—particularly for Black students.
"The complaint faults the administration for targeting programs that offer '#truthful, #inclusive curricula,' as well as policies that expand access to selective educational opportunities for #BlackAmericans and foster belonging while addressing #racism in schools.
"The NAACP argues that the Department’s recent actions 'advance a misinterpretation' of federal civil rights laws and Supreme Court precedent—actions that, according to the group, violate its members’ rights to equal protection and to be free from viewpoint discrimination under the #USConstitution.
"NAACP President Derrick Johnson criticized the move, stating that the administration is 'effectively sanctioning' the very discrimination that U.S. civil rights laws were designed to prevent
" 'The Department of Education, tasked with a responsibility to protect the civil rights of all children, has instead claimed #SystemicRacism doesn’t exist — effectively sanctioning the very discrimination that our civil rights laws were designed to prevent while children of color consistently attend #segregated, chronically underfunded schools where they receive less educational opportunities and more discipline,' said Johnson."

#NoKingsDay #washington #DC 2025-02-17 in a #bigbrother 1984 #orwellian #digital #dictatorship, no one would see anything of this #protests, all the big media conglomerates, search engines would censor it :( question: why did those peaceful protesters not try to turn over the gov and storm congress? I find it helps to #translate those #popups to "Please #disable your #adblocker so that our un-vetted executable #code can run without #permission on your computer and rummage through whatever information your browser has not sufficiently #locked it out of, and then send it $DEITY-knows-where for our #commercial benefit".
It sounds somewhat less appealing and White Knight-y then, which is probably why these sites avoid the more #truthful description.

Pleven: Where grumpy meets truthful!
Compared to other cities across Bulgaria, Pleven’s denizens have been labeled grumpy, unfriendly and downright depressed. Some time ago I used to believe it was true, and how could I not!
I feel like people in/from Pleven are simply more in touch with how they feel and are living in the moment - even if it’s a bad one. No need to guess how we feel. A quick look is enough! I find it refreshing.

I'm finding myself draw to a lot of #lo-fi #music at the moment. Basically lots of #DanielJohnston. I'm not sure why. I know I admire the #rawness and #truthfulness of it. And maybe it's a call from deep in my subconsious to be more #truthful.
But today it's #JohnFrusciante and his album Niandra LaDes and Usually Just A T Shirt.
There is a #beauty to it I can't quite fathom.
