A #TinyForest has come to Wilmslow High School, planted by Transition Wilmslow, supported by Earthwatch & funded by ex-pupils, hit band #the1975.

Tiny forests are densely-packed fast-growing native trees - students will be able to see first-hand the #biodiversity boost it brings!

150 people joined in the planting: “It was an amazing day” said project co-ordinator Lisa Johnson. Transition Wilmslow are working to double tree cover in the town by 2040.

Ok, I appreciate that perspective. Either way, the approach is the same -- build sustainability and the capacity of regeneration at the community level. That's where policy meets the individual. Thanks for taking on this giant ongoing debacle with pragmatic, feasible solutions. Multi-solving is a create, pro-active approach. One could also refer to this practice as "stacking functions." Since this video was released (7 years ago), we've learned again and again that the globe is warming much faster than we predicted. Recently Hansen et.al. concluded that ~4°C is inevitable in the short loop and 10+°C is inevitable in the long loop. Not looking so good for designer tomatoes. Too late? Still must press on.

A big payoff for adopting designed sustainable communities is the aesthetics. Having lived austerely for decades now I can attest that the aesthetic pay-off offsets the austerity with an ethical (fuzzy warms) pay-off. Either way, status quo is killing the planet and us.
