I'm almost a quarter of the way through The Incal. The story is in constant motion, so I have to remind myself to slow down and take in the strange, often fascinating (and crowded) art.
I can see how Miyazaki Hayao took inspiration from Mœbius' style, going by my memories of the Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind manga and its detailed action sequences.
Also finding myself constantly wiping crusty particles off this well-read library book.

A while back, I watched a video on YouTube about Mœbius (Jean Giraud) and just how much sci-fi was influenced by his art.
So I took note of The Incal, specifically, and eventually put in a request/reservation with my local library.
Picked it up Thursday—three days ago—and finally finished my copy of Legends & Lattes the same day.
It's been a busy weekend, but I've read the first chapter and it's interesting so far.

So I took note of The Incal, specifically, and eventually put in a request/reservation with my local library.
Picked it up Thursday—three days ago—and finally finished my copy of Legends & Lattes the same day.
It's been a busy weekend, but I've read the first chapter and it's interesting so far.

I'm so disgusted by what the bourgeoisie is doing right now, all over the planet, that I have become chronically disgusted. I'm disgusted already when I wake up, before I have even read the news, just because of all the crimes they committed the days before!
I have been considering seeing a doctor about it. I'm not kidding. This is real. You know how they have anti-depressants? Maybe they also have something like anti-disgustants. I need the most potent option, and the maximum dosage, right now!
I think maybe the bloody aliens might have to intervene and set things straight in the end, because everyone seems powerless. And just imagine what would happen, if the negotiator they send is super fabulous!

Arrivato poco fa nella posta, una piacevolissima sorpresa che fonde cose che amo, come #MadMax #ShaolinCowboy con #KenIlGuerriero e uno stile curatissimo che mi ha ricordato #StefanoTamiazzo e una certa parte di #Moebius
Tutto con una storia avvincente e una bellissima regia di tavola anche nelle situazioni più incasinate (e ce ne sono!). Belli anche i colpi di scena mai banali, davvero capaci di coglierti in contropiede. Grandissimo lavoro, @nuclearpasta !

#Moebius 'Le garage hermetique' is a weird loosely bound collection of story-threads. Stuff happens and are not explained, building a world with a lot of flavor with new dimensions added in every two-page segment. The author writes that an editor saw the first two pages and wanted more, but he had lost the pages when he had to draw that, which explains why there are some many jumps in the story.
To fix this there is inserted Resumes that comments on the story in a non-standard way adding to the flavor.
The world is artificial with three levels that you can travel through by passing certain doors - the garage in the title.Story lines center on Major Grubert and his people, Jerry Cornelius and the person from the first pages - engineer Barnier (that halfway thorough get rescued by a masked figure with a bow).
Some of the characters gets sidelined before the end where the plot is revealed to be a fight over the artificial world and a plan to make it real
