You know how it is when you play something and, though it's a recording you normally like, you just don't feel it's right for now?
The other day I was watching an interview by Stephen Colbert of Paul Simon. Stephen Colbert mentioned his five most influential musicians of a specific era and he included Jackson Browne. I thought: Jackson Browne! I haven't listened to him in ages!
So I started playing the album and did play it all the way through, but I felt like that the whole time I was listening. It just wasn't working for me.
Since then I've had an earworm of The Road.
So although I felt I really didn't want to listen to it, clearly my brain had other ideas and I've not been able to stop since.
