#US / EPA staffers condemn US-Israel partnership, demand climate funds release amid Gaza genocide
#EPA and Department of Energy staffers are demanding an end to US collaboration with #Israel, citing the ongoing siege and genocide in Gaza. They also demand the release of $50 million in federal funds to the Climate Justice Alliance, which were delayed after the group supported a ceasefire in #Gaza.
The staffers' letter highlights the hypocrisy of prioritizing environmental justice domestically while funding projects that contribute to the destruction of Palestinian communities and ecosystems. This comes as President Biden, despite a progressive climate platform, has failed to deliver on various climate promises and opened federal lands for oil and gas extraction. Progressive members of Congress, including
Senator Markey and Representatives Ocasio-Cortez and Stansbury, have also urged #Biden to release the funds.

#Palestine / Gaza: Life in a death trap
#MSF's new report, "Gaza: Life in a death trap," details the impact of Israel's 14-month war on the people of Gaza. The report highlights repeated attacks on Palestinian civilians, the destruction of the healthcare system and infrastructure, a suffocating siege, and the denial of humanitarian aid, creating apocalyptic conditions.
Over 45,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed, with the actual number likely much higher due to the collapsed healthcare system and lack of access to basic necessities. 1.9 million people (90% of Gaza's population) have been forcibly displaced, and even MSF teams have faced 41 attacks.
[…] In the north of the Strip in particular, the recent military offensive is a clear illustration of the brutal war the Israeli forces are waging on Gaza, and we are witnessing clear signs of ethnic
cleansing as Palestinian life is being wiped off the area. Our firsthand observations of the
medical and humanitarian catastrophe inflicted on Gaza are consistent with the descriptions
provided by an increasing number of legal experts and organisations concluding that genocide
is taking place in Gaza. While we don’t have legal authority to establish intentionality, the signs
of ethnic cleansing and the ongoing devastation—including mass killings, severe physical and
mental health injuries, forced displacement, and impossible conditions of life for Palestinians
under siege and bombardment—are undeniable.
Attacks on civilians, the dismantling of the healthcare system, the deprivation of food, water and supplies are a form of collective punishment inflicted by the Israeli authorities on the people of
Gaza. This must stop now.MSF calls for an immediate ceasefire, access to northern #Gaza, and an end to the siege to allow for humanitarian aid delivery. The report concludes that even if the violence ended today, the long-term consequences, including widespread trauma and health issues, would be catastrophic.

[followup] Israel's Amsterdam premeditated "pogrom" claim? Yes, that was also a distraction from the genocide in Gaza…
Who could have guessed? WAPO's "investigation" is somewhat superfluous; citizen journalists already showed Israeli soccer fans initiating the violence. There was no program and the violence was most certainly not planned.
Initial confrontations involved aggressive actions by some Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, such as damaging a taxi and tearing down a Palestinian flag. These actions, along with online messaging containing threats against Israeli fans, fueled retaliatory actions by some local residents. The inadequate police response in the city center also contributed significantly to the escalation of violence.

#Palestine / HRW: Israel's deliberate water deprivation in Gaza is a crime of extermination and genocide
A Human Rights Watch report details how Israeli authorities intentionally cut off water access to Palestinian civilians in #Gaza since October 2023, resulting in thousands of deaths. This action, coupled with the destruction of water infrastructure and the blocking of aid, constitutes the crime against humanity of extermination and potentially genocide. The report cites statements by Israeli officials expressing a desire to destroy Palestinians in Gaza as further evidence of genocidal intent.
The ongoing blockade of Gaza, lasting over 17 years, is also highlighted as collective punishment and a war crime, part of a broader pattern of #apartheid and persecution against Palestinians. The report urges governments to halt military assistance to #Israel, review diplomatic ties, and support the International Criminal Court's accountability efforts to prevent further atrocities.

#Palestine / Israeli media's complicity in suppressing Palestinian citizens rights
Ailat Grill-Sharath, the Hebrew-language spokesperson for Sikui-Ofuk, an organization working to promote a shared and equitable society between Arab and Jewish citizens in #Israel, writesabout how Israeli media outlets are complicit in the suppression of Palestinian rights. While ostensibly covering the government's dangerous legislative blitz, major news organizations consistently omit or downplay laws specifically targeting the Arab community.
For example, #N12 criticized the legislation but ignored laws defined under "supporting terror," while #Calcalist warned of the judicial overhaul without mentioning the word "Arab." This selective reporting hides the true aim: to erase the Arab community as a legitimate minority. A proposed amendment to the Basic Law: The Knesset, designed to lower Arab voter turnout, exemplifies this biased coverage.
Analysis by Sikui-Ofuk and The Seventh Eye revealed that while the media described the amendment as a "correction/expansion of grounds for disqualification," it was referred to as a "law for disqualifying/removing supporters of terror" in discussions and interviews, ignoring the severe impact on a fifth of the country's citizens and the undermining of democracy.
Other laws aim to expel students and lecturers deemed "supporters of terror" from academic institutions, violating freedom of speech. A further proposal allows arrests for "incitement to terror" without prosecutorial approval, further enabling political persecution. Arab representation in Hebrew media is at a record low of 1.3% in 2023, reflecting the existing Jewish supremacy. The media must actively challenge this narrative and defend the Arab community, protecting democracy for all.

[followup] #Palestine / IDF soldiers know that Palestinian suffering is a sought-after commodity in Israeli society
B’Tselem documented 25 testimonies detailing this abuse, which included beatings, threats of rape, and psychological torture. Many of these attacks occurred publicly and were even filmed and shared by the perpetrators.
Shiri Davidovitch, a researcher at B'Tselem, argues that this violence is not only a product of the daily realities of occupation but is also fueled by a societal climate in #Israel shaped by the October 2024 war. The lack of critical media coverage of the conflict in #Gaza and the emphasis on a simplistic notion of “victory” has created a societal thirst for vengeance, dehumanizing Palestinians and normalizing violence against them. This dehumanization is evident in the casual brutality documented in #Hebron and the widespread sharing of violent imagery online.
Davidovitch concludes that as long as Israeli society continues to dehumanize Palestinians and prioritize a narrative of revenge, such abuses will continue.

#Palestine / Israel’s Supreme Court orders demolition of illegal settlement construction on Palestinian land near Nabi Aner, 7 years after the case was filed
The case, filed in December 2017 by the head of Ras Karkar village council, two residents of Deir Amar village, and the human rights organizations Yesh Din and Emek Shaveh, challenged the illegal construction and takeover of the Nabi Aner archaeological site.
The site, partially located on Palestinian-owned land near Ramallah, contains significant cultural heritage including springs, a mosque, and ruins of historical structures. Since the early 2000s, Palestinian landowners have experienced severe violence from Israeli settlers, hindering access to the site. Israeli settlers subsequently transformed the area into a recreational site, illegally constructing pools, pathways, and other structures, even boasting about displacing Palestinians.
Despite repeated appeals to authorities, the illegal construction continued. The Israeli government attempted to delay enforcement by citing the “Regularization Law,” but the Supreme Court rejected this argument in 2020. Finally, on December 17, 2024, the court ruled in favor of the petitioners, ordering the demolition of illegal structures within six months and the restoration of the site to its pre-occupation state.
The court emphasized the state's obligation to protect Palestinian property rights and ensure access to heritage sites. The ruling also criticized the government and prosecution for their handling of the case.
Photo: Settlers after they encroached upon the Nabi Aner site, which served to irrigate the lands of the villages of Ras Karkar and Deir Amar. This is part of a widespread phenomenon of “settlement tourism”, which involves taking over Palestinian lands and claiming them to be public goods (while violently denying access to the rightful owners of course).

#US / Lawsuit accuses US of ignoring human rights law to fund Israeli military
The lawsuit marks the first time victims are directly challenging the U.S. government's failure to sanction Israeli security forces under the Leahy Law.
[…] A Guardian investigation published in January found that top US officials had quietly reviewed more than a dozen incidents of alleged gross violations of human rights by Israeli security forces since 2020, but implemented special bureaucratic measures that have ultimately preserved access to US weapons for the allegedly responsible units. The investigation found that special mechanisms have been used over the last few years to shield Israel even as other allies’ military units who receive US support – including, sources say, Ukraine – have privately been sanctioned and faced consequences for committing human rights violations.

#Israel / Netanyahu admits to lying, implicating his “friends” in Israel Hayom scandal
#Netanyahu's history of lies and manipulation is being dissected in court.
In a surprising turn during his second day of testimony war criminal #Netanyahu admitted to directly influencing the editorial line of Israel Hayom, the free newspaper established with the help of the late Sheldon Adelson.
Netanyahu confessed to making frequent calls to Adelson and former editor-in-chief Amos Regev regarding political coverage, implying that all three previously lied to the court to conceal their connections.
For 15 years, Israel Hayom functioned as a propaganda outlet, promoting Netanyahu's agenda, suppressing negative information, and attacking his rivals, a fact supported by intelligence information and a comprehensive review by The Seventh Eye.
State witness Nir Hefetz corroborated this, testifying about Netanyahu's demands to attack Noni Mozes, whom Netanyahu and his wife considered a nemesis.
This admission comes as Netanyahu attempts to refute bribery charges in “Case 4000”, contrasting his actions with Israel Hayom to his lack of influence over news site Walla!, where he believed he couldn't manipulate coverage.
[…] Over the years, employees of Israel Hayom have reported that editor-in-chief Regev would frequently seclude himself in his office for long phone calls before press deadlines. These calls were followed by changes to the newspaper's front page and news sections, which, according to the employees, often served Netanyahu's personal interests.
After Adelson's death and Netanyahu's loss of power, Israel Hayom distanced itself from Netanyahu, highlighting the end of their alliance.

#Palestine / Emotional politics and the silencing of dissent in post-October 7th Israel
Great read by Amalia Sa’ar on the surge of emotional discourse in #Israel following the October 7, 2023 attacks, which is primarily framed around the concept of national trauma, and has permeated Israeli political discussions. Sa’ar argues that this emotionalization of the political is a sophisticated mechanism for silencing criticism and maintaining the status quo, further entrenched by the integration of national security concerns within familial and community relationships.
What Sa’ar is calling "emotionalization of the political" silences critical analysis of Israel's military actions and the Israeli-Palestinian “conflict”. [*] While public protests against the government and calls for investigations exist, critiques of the occupation, the siege of Gaza, and the excessive violence of the Israeli Defense Forces are marginalized or condemned as treasonous.
The prevalence of "national trauma" discourse, fueled by the October 7th attacks and historical narratives linking Jewish suffering to #Zionism, is argued to serve as a tool for silencing dissent. This framing of Israel as perpetually vulnerable, post-traumatic, and thus beyond reproach, prevents objective assessment of Israel's role in the conflict and its disproportionate power.
Furthermore, this emotional discourse creates a climate of self-censorship and even explicit repression, particularly for Palestinian citizens of Israel who face repercussions for expressing solidarity with Gazans.
Hebrew https://hazmanhazeh.org.il/emotion_politics
[*] The characterization of the Israeli occupation of Palestine as a mere "conflict" is a misnomer; it obscures the inherent asymmetry of the situation. There are not two equal sides, and to conflate the Arab world's involvement with the plight of the occupied Palestinian population under Israeli occupation is misleading. Supported and financed by the U.S., Israel acts with impunity, disregarding international law and norms.

#Israel / Three Jewish ambassadors from Latin America appointed to serve in Israel
For the first time in #Israel’s history, three ambassadors from South American nations are Hebrew-speaking Jews, with two choosing to reside in Jerusalem.
Axel Wahnish, #Argentina's ambassador, is working to convince President #Milei to move the Argentine embassy to #Jerusalem. Ezra Cohen, #Panama's ambassador, is the son of a soldier who fought in the 1948 war. Cristina Cevallos, #Ecuador's ambassador, converted to Judaism and moved to Israel. Next week, #Paraguay's president will address the Knesset, followed by another visit from Argentina's president.
Shimon Axel Wahnish is an Argentine rabbi and diplomat, currently serving as Argentina’s ambassador to Israel since May 2024. He is notable for being the first rabbi appointed to this position. Wahnish has played a significant role in shaping President Javier Milei’s pro-Jewish stance and is regarded as his spiritual advisor, despite Milei being Catholic.
Ezra Cohen, born in Panama in 1960 to Israeli parents, is the Executive Director of Shevet Ahim Congregation in Panama.
María Cristina Cevallos has recently been appointed as Ecuador’s ambassador to Israel, taking over from the suspended Vice President Verónica Abad. According to Israeli media, she is married to an Israeli, converted to Judaism, and relinquished her Israeli citizenship to accept the appointment.

#US / Israeli Security Firms Stifle Free Speech on North American Campuses Amidst Gaza Protests
Following the recent surge in student-led protests against #Israel's actions in #Gaza, numerous universities across the U.S. and Canada have faced immense pressure to quell the demonstrations. This pressure has led to the hiring of private Israeli security firms with ties to the Israeli military, including Strategic Security Corp. at CUNY, and Perceptage International and Moshav Security Consultants at Concordia University. These firms, often staffed by former #IDF soldiers and intelligence personnel, have been accused of aggressive tactics and violence against protesters.

#Palestine / Massacre at Kamal Adwan Hospital
Israeli forces attacked Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, killing four doctors and numerous other people, and injuring dozens more. Eyewitnesses and the hospital director, Dr. Hussam Abu Saifya, described the attack as involving airstrikes, intense gunfire, and the forced evacuation of patients and staff.
The Israeli military detained numerous young men, destroyed medical supplies, and severely damaged oxygen generators, leaving only two inexperienced surgeons to treat the injured. The Indonesian medical delegation, the only surgical team at the hospital, was forced to leave.
This raid, the second on the hospital since October 5th, follows a renewed Israeli incursion into northern Gaza, resulting in over 3,700 Palestinian deaths and 10,000 injuries, according to Gaza's Government Media Office. Following the raid, hundreds of bodies and wounded people were found in the streets surrounding the hospital. A separate drone strike killed a 16-year-old boy entering the hospital's X-ray department on Thursday.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that there is no evidence of a warning before the shelling of Kamal Adwan Hospital, and that the hospital is currently operating at minimum capacity.
At least 1,050 health workers have been killed since the start of the war, according to the Ministry of Health in Ramallah.

#Palestine / IDA Documentary Awards: ‘No Other Land’ Wins Best Feature Doc
No Other Land, a documentary about life under Israeli occupation in the occupied West Bank, won the best feature documentary award at the 2024 IDA Awards. The film also received awards for best director and the IDA Pare Lorentz Award.
No Other Land previously won awards at the Berlin International Film Festival, Gotham Awards, New York Film Critics Circle Awards, and National Board of Review Awards.
Israeli media reports that "No Other Land" has begun its Oscar journey—a prospect that should worry Israel. The media, in fact, while in denial about the Gaza genocide itself, the potential for publicizing the brutality of the occupation, particularly the context of the October events, is presumably worrisome.

#Palestine / Gaza nurse becomes foster mother to orphaned baby girl amidst massacre
Following an Israeli attack in #Gaza's Sabra neighborhood in October 2023, a newborn baby girl, the sole survivor of a massacre, was found and brought to Shifa Hospital. Due to the ongoing conflict and the subsequent Israeli incursion into the hospital, her records were lost.
After being evacuated to another hospital in #Rafah and then Al-Helal Al-Emirati Hospital, Amal Abu Khatleh, a nurse, gave the unnamed infant the name Malak ("angel") and eventually took her home as a foster mother.
Despite facing further displacement due to fighting, Abu Khatleh continues to care for Malak, who recently celebrated her first birthday, while simultaneously searching for her biological family through social media.

#Palestine / Israeli Airstrike Kills at Least 20 in Gaza's Humanitarian Zone
An Israeli airstrike hit a densely populated tent encampment in #Gaza's Al-Mawasi area, a designated humanitarian zone, killing at least 20 people and wounding several others.
The incident occurred in an area repeatedly struck despite its designation as safer for civilians and despite the lack of adequate resources within the zone. The reported death toll could not be independently verified.
Palestinian sources report widespread destruction and describe the scene as a "fireball."
#Israel claims the strike targeted #Hamas militants, citing secondary explosions as evidence of weaponry in the area, while acknowledging efforts to mitigate civilian harm.

#Palestine / Some at Amnesty International Israel reject genocide claim
Amnesty International Israel (AI-Israel), while acknowledging the catastrophic scale of violence and destruction in Gaza and the need for immediate international intervention, rejects the global AI report’s conclusion that #Israel is committing genocide.
AI-Israel states that its analysis, conducted with external experts, finds insufficient evidence to meet the legal definition of genocide, although it does acknowledge that a minority of its members disagree. AI-Israel does, however, agree that Israel’s actions raise serious concerns about widespread violations of international law, potentially amounting to crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing.
They also highlight Israel's failure to act against incitement to #genocide. AI-Israel calls for a ceasefire, humanitarian aid for #Gaza, investigations into war crimes by all sides, and the dismantling of the occupation and apartheid system.
They also stress the need to address the root causes of the “conflict” and the involvement of other armed actors in the region.

#BDS / Norway's Wealth Fund Divests from Bezeq Over West Bank Settlements
#Norway's $1.8 trillion sovereign wealth fund, the world's largest, has divested from Israeli telecommunications company #Bezeq due to its provision of services to Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank. This decision follows a stricter interpretation of ethical guidelines by the fund's Council on Ethics, which deems such activities as violations of international law.
This is the first divestment since the Council's policy change in August and follows previous divestments from nine other companies operating in the occupied territories. More divestments are expected.

#Palestine / Israel's enduring pursuit of Palestinian displacement
The image (previous post) of Eastern European Orthodox Jews at the Gaza border casually discussing ethnic cleansing is repulsive, but the historical pursuit of Palestinian displacement from Gaza is not new. It's not solely the obsession of the current far-right coalition. Israel presented a facade of peacemaking to the world while quietly plotting to finish the job they started in 1948.
Minutes from secret meetings of Israeli governments in the 1960s and 70s, involving prime ministers and ministers from left-leaning governments, unveil discussions using euphemisms like "population thinning" and "transfer," alongside more direct terms such as "expulsion" and "deportation."
[…] "If we can relocate 300,000 refugees from the Gaza Strip to other places… we can annex Gaza without a problem." —Moshe Dayan, 1967.
Key figures like Moshe Dayan, Golda Meir, and Yigal Allon are quoted expressing support for plans to remove Palestinians from Gaza, often to facilitate annexation and Jewish settlement. The author, Ofer Aderet, highlights the striking similarity between these past proposals and the current far-right's aims, suggesting a continuity in the underlying goal of displacing Palestinians, differing primarily in the level of openness and public justification.
In late December 1967, Dayan discussed a peace agreement that included "resettling refugees, removing them from Gaza, and settling them in the East Bank." He claimed that in such a scenario, "there would not be 400,000 Arabs in Gaza, but 70,000 or 100,000." The following day, Eshkol stated, "We want to empty Gaza first. Therefore, we will initially allow the Arabs of Gaza to leave." Minister Yigal Allon went further, suggesting, "It wouldn't be bad at all to thin out the Galilee Arabs as well." Minister Sasson explained how encouraging Palestinians to leave for work would help achieve this goal: "Let them go to find work... and then they will move their entire families there. We might benefit from this by reducing the number of Arabs in these areas." Dayan agreed, adding, "By giving these Arabs the opportunity to find work abroad, the chances of them emigrating to those countries increase." Allon then proposed extending the plan to include Arab Israelis, questioning, "Why can't this be extended to the veteran Arab Israelis?"

[…] [Defense Minister Moshe Dayan:]
The technique I propose is clear to me. Then you will explain your modifications. The technique is: We mark [houses] here and there and proceed to break through [into the homes]. We give them 48 hours to move. We tell them, for example: You are moving to Al-Arish or another place, we will take you, drive you, and initially we will do renovations. Initially, we give them the option to move willingly. We remove the furniture from the house. Those who want to leave - will leave. If a person does not come to arrange his affairs, we bring a bulldozer to destroy the house. If there are people in the house, we remove them from the house. Until now there has been no case where people did not leave the house.
Or - we give a warning - if he does not want to remove his furniture, he will not remove it. In summary: We say where he can move to and offer help with transportation. But if the person does not want to use any help offered to him, the army comes and removes the residents from the house, with the furniture or without the furniture, the bulldozer begins to demolish house after house. Since we give him 48 hours or more, there is no critical moment where we come and say, we will load you and your furniture onto a truck, but rather we give him the opportunity to do it willingly. We don't speak with every individual, but with the mukhtar (village leader) of the neighborhood. Let's assume for a moment that they left the house and are not there when the army arrives. Should we start looking for the people inside the camp? Let's assume that the 48 hours have passed and the person is not in that apartment, we demolish the house with the furniture. The person did not show up - did not show up.Hebrew https://www.haaretz.co.il/news/magazine/2024-12-03/ty-article-magazine/.premium/00000193-874b-d95a-afdf-ffef32070000 or https://archive.is/HoTwN

#Palestine / UNGA resolution on “the peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine” passed
The UN General Assembly overwhelmingly approved a resolution (157 in favor, 8 against, 7 abstentions) to convene a high-level international conference in June 2025, aiming to establish a roadmap for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The resolution demands #Israel end its occupation of #Palestinian territories, cease settlement activities, and compensate for damages caused by its actions, emphasizing the dire humanitarian situation in #Gaza and the occupied territories. The conference will be preceded by a preparatory meeting in May 2025.
According to #Ynet, the resolution, supported by 157 countries with only eight (including Israel, the US, Hungary, and Argentina) opposing it, signals a significant international push for a two-state solution.
This development coincides with #Australia's shift in its UN voting stance on related resolutions, further highlighting the growing international pressure on Israel.

#Palestine / IDF soldiers' videos document war crimes on Social Media
A Washington Post investigation reveals a disturbing pattern of Israeli soldiers' behavior in #Gaza during the 14-month war, including the destruction of homes and buildings, often celebrated on social media. Soldiers' videos and photos show them engaging in acts of vengeance, mocking Palestinians, and even calling for the expulsion and resettlement of Palestinians in Gaza. Some soldiers reported following orders to burn homes, while others expressed discomfort with the actions of their colleagues, driven by revenge and religious fanaticism.
[…] “Every house with Hamas signs, we were told to burn,” he said. “But Hamas is the main power in Gaza. Most of the houses have the Hamas flag, a photo of Haniyeh,” he said, referring to Ismail Haniyeh, one of Hamas’s former political officials who was assassinated by Israel in July. In houses that had photos of Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian leader who died two decades ago, soldiers had “the option” to burn them down, he said, adding that his unit set fire to at least twenty homes over the course of his five month deployment.
Despite IDF attempts to control the spread of these videos, they continue to surface, revealing potential violations of international humanitarian law, including disproportionate destruction and the mistreatment of detainees and corpses.
These kind of actions have already prompted investigations by the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice.

#Paelstine / B'Tselem report exposes systematic abuse of Palestinians by Israeli soldiers in Hebron
A new B'Tselem report details the systematic abuse of Palestinians by Israeli soldiers in Hebron during the summer of 2024. Twenty-five testimonies describe arbitrary arrests and brutal attacks on men, women, and children, including beatings, torture (cigarette burns, genital blows), and injections of unknown substances. Victims, targeted while going about their daily lives, were often taken to military facilities for the abuse, then released without charge.

#Palestine / Satellite Images Reveal IDF's Extensive Military Buildup in Central Gaza
According to New York Times analysis of satellite imagery, the #IDF has significantly expanded its presence in central Gaza, establishing 19 large bases and destroying over 600 Palestinian buildings along the Netzarim corridor.
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/02/world/middleeast/israel-gaza-bases-netzarim.html
The military now controls an 18-square-kilometer area, equipped with communication towers and defensive fortifications. While the IDF claims these expansions are for operational purposes, they coincide with statements from Israeli ministers about potential future Jewish settlement in Gaza and encouraging Palestinian emigration, marking a significant shift from Israel's previous approach of avoiding territorial control in the Strip.
Housing Minister Yitzhak Goldknopf's during his visit to the Netzarim corridor last Thursday:
[...] "ideas like settlement in the Gaza Strip are blessed. We must remember that ultimately this is the greatest punishment for what they did to us on October 7. The only times we defeated our enemies were when we took territory from them. Conquering the Gaza Strip is definitely an idea, but I must admit it's not enough for me. I also want to encourage emigration, and I think we should allow them to voluntarily emigrate to their countries."

Eric Cheyfitz, a longtime professor of American studies at Cornell, will teach “AIIS 3500: Gaza, Indigeneity, Resistance” next semester.
[...] The first half of the course will be devoted to situating Indigenous peoples, of which there are 476,000,000 globally, in an international context, where we will examine the proposition that Indigenous people are involved historically in a global resistance against an ongoing colonialism. The second half will present a specific case of this war: settler colonialism in Palestine/Israel with a particular emphasis on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) finding "plausible" the South African assertion of "genocide" in Gaza.
