#Eurovision's organizers (#EBU) are reportedly considering moving Israel from Eurovision Europe to the new Eurovision Asia competition in Bangkok this November, according to #ynet, which is relying on anonymous sources. This comes after 5 countries boycotted Eurovision 2026 over Israel's participation in connection with the Gaza genocide.
[...] The EBU responded to ynet's inquiry, stating that "discussions are ongoing with additional broadcasters about joining the November event," adding that anyone participating in Eurovision Europe will not be able to participate in Eurovision Asia. "The event, like Eurovision, will be inclusive and celebrate our being united by music. Decisions regarding participation are made by the organizers."

According to #ynet, Hungary's newly elected Prime Minister, Péter Magyar, has announced plans to rejoin the International Criminal Court (#ICC) in The Hague, from which Viktor Orbán had withdrawn. Author of this this news brief says there are concerns in Israel that Hungary's closer alignment with the EU may reduce its ability to assist #Israel, as it might be less willing to veto #EU decisions against Israel 🙄

U.S. responds to #Smotrich’s comments on expanding #Israel’s territory: “We do not support annexation of the West Bank”

#ynet’s daily war crimes porn for its readers
Everything about these news briefs smells of war crime porn: operational name, strike count, timeframe, the phrase “most significant blow” – it reads like a press release written to make mass killing sound like a logistics achievement. “100 targets in 10 minutes” is framed as a flex, not a horror. The kill capacity is presented as a performance metric, supposedly something to be impressed by rather than horrified at. What those targets contained is of course omitted because everyone knows Israel of course only ever targets “terrorists”.

#Ynet has been uncritically covering the #Gaza genocide, #Lebanon, and #Iran as if they were spectator sports, with a nonstop flood of #IDF spokes office verbiage and imagery. Their in-house IDF propagandist, Ron Ben-Yishai, is still optimistic despite the unpleasant conclusions of Israel’s disastrous Iran strategy:
[...] In the current situation, Israel has two main concerns: how to persuade Trump not to rush into lifting sanctions on Iran, and not to return Iran’s frozen funds. Removing the economic pressure on Iran would help placate the masses, some of whom oppose the regime; it would enable the regime to fund its proxies, chief among them Hezbollah; and it would allow the regime to finance the rebuilding of its military capabilities. The Iranians do not lack talent or know-how. The other concern in Jerusalem is how to finish the job the IDF began in Lebanon and is still far from completing.

Reader comment (#Ynet):
The Strait of Hormuz, which had been open before the war, reopened. One ayatollah left, another arrived; it’s still unclear whether he’s worse than the previous one. The uranium remains. The missiles remain. Lebanon has been officially recognized as an Iranian protectorate. Russia and China are backing Iran with veto support. Hezbollah has bounced back as if nothing had happened during two years of war. And in the south? We’re still supposedly a step away from victory while the army is bogged down in the mud there, putting soldiers and civilians at risk.

[Hebrew #Wikipedia article on IDF, translation]
[...] The #IDF has an official ethical code according to which its soldiers and officers are educated. The official ethical code emphasizes the importance of adherence to mission and purity of arms. The IDF works extensively to instill the official ethical code in soldiers through educational activities during basic training, commander courses, educational workshops, and more.
Jewish terrorism is just an extension of state terrorism. It's neither new nor surprising, it's carried out with impunity across every sector of Israeli society. The incident documented in this video is no worse than thousands of others that go unreported. It's being addressed now only because it's becoming too visible to deny or conceal.
Even the #Ynet (a site that frames everything through the lens of antisemitism) article frames it with mention of stone-throwing, as if that justifies the soldiers' conduct. Here are some user comments on #Ynet accompanying this report and video, demonstrating how all forms of violence have been normalized:

Two problems here. If right-wing bots are manipulating the comments section, Ynet moderators should block them, but the bigger issue is that this is incitement and hate speech. As someone who comments there regularly, I can confirm: any comment that challenges Israel or the IDF, or draws comparisons to Nazism, gets blocked and removed. They can and do moderate, albeit with a strong preference for incitement against Palestinians. This kind of content is allowed to stand, even when flagged for hate speech.

I got no problem with Israel criticism. But if you paint a Magen David on the face of an effigy and then burn it and shoot it in... Europe... eh... 😬
"The incident drew outcry from the microstate’s tiny #Jewish community, which only just got its first full-time #rabbi, a #Chabad emissary, in the last two years.
“This is a ritual they perform every year as part of #carnival, where they mock many things,” Jewish #Andorra resident #EstherPujol told #YNet. “This time they dressed the effigy in the colors of the #Israeli flag, with a #StarofDavid on its face. They put it on trial, sentenced it to death and carried out the sentence by shooting and burning it. It is completely unacceptable.”
Pujol told the outlet that it was the first time she had seen the festival include anti-Israel or #antisemitic elements, and that she had contacted Andorran lawmakers to express her outrage."

“Muslim immigrant”
Erasing Palestinian identities is a familiar practice in Israeli media; it seems to be a habit they can’t shake. #Ynet—Israel’s mainstream gutter press, which peddles #xenophobia daily, has this masterpiece today: a headline that simply says “Australia salutes Ahmed,” with no surname and details buried inside a lengthy story about Jewish victims and comments by friend and family—none of whom are apparently immigrants in Australia.

@palestine @israel “Judea and Samaria” (occupied West Bank) in #Ynet and most Israeli media is of course another example of a a cognitive framing which tries to change reality, referring to an occupied land using biblical reality denying terminology.
-
About 70 Jewish settlers attacked #IDF reservists near #Ramallah, throwing stones, choking a commander, and damaging military vehicles. Israeli media outlets described them as “Jews,” “citizens,” or “settlers” in headlines. The same outlets call #Palestinians who throw stones “terrorists.” The analysis in the Seventh Eye compared coverage from #Kan 11, #Ynet, Channel 13, and other major #Israeli media, showing different terminology for the same actions based on who commits them.
[…] And how did the main media outlets in Israel describe the incident? On Kan 11, not a media outlet considered a propaganda mouthpiece, this headline was given: “Jews attacked reserve fighters, six arrested.” “Jews.” Not terrorists, not hooligans, not even rioters. What a whitewashed definition for a violent and dangerous incident against IDF soldiers.
[…] When it comes to stone-throwers who are not Jewish, the treatment is completely different. For example, the headline on the “Israel Hayom” website for an article that referred to Palestinians throwing stones at Israeli drivers was “Stone-throwing terror.” When Ynet wanted to report on a case of stone-throwing by Arabs, the headline was “Terrorists threw stones at a bus in Samaria and fled, Israeli citizen injured.“

'Israeli' farmers report widening boycott of exports across Europe, Japan: Reports (Roya News, 2025-06-26)
https://en.royanews.tv/news/60720
———>> 'Israeli' farmers and food exporters are reporting a sharp rise in boycott efforts against their agricultural products across Europe, according to a report published Wednesday by the Hebrew outlet #Ynet.
>> The Ynet report cites exporters saying that European countries like Belgium and Ireland have effectively begun boycotting 'Israeli' produce. In recent weeks, Italy’s and the UK’s Co-op chains announced they would stop selling 'Israeli' products, and now other retailers—such as the UK’s #Waitrose and Germany’s #Aldi—are reportedly following suit, even without public declarations.
>> … some 'Israeli' exporters are also facing signs of reluctance from Japanese buyers, signaling that the impact may soon extend beyond Europe.

#Ynet’s homepage is regularly adorned with gleeful chauvinism, racism and Islamophobia. Yesterday they celebrated #Iran’s diminished capabilities as a result of the “exceptional” work of the Israeli Air Force. However, today’s news headlines shift back to the price payed by Israel’s home front.
Headline: 129 injured in heavy barrage: 89 in Gush Dan, 40 in Be’er Sheva
Magen David Adom updated that 129 people were injured as a result of this morning’s heavy barrage from Iran: 89 in Gush Dan, where there were direct hits in #Holon and Ramat Gan, and 40 in Be’er Sheva - where #Soroka Hospital was hit.
Of the 89 injured in Gush Dan, three were seriously injured, two moderately injured, 40 lightly injured from shrapnel and blast waves, 31 were injured on their way to protected areas, and 13 are defined as anxiety casualties. They were evacuated to Sheba Tel Hashomer, Schneider, Beilinson, Ichilov, Assaf Harofeh, Wolfson, Meir, Ma’ayanei Hayeshua, Assuta Ashdod, and Barzilai hospitals.
All those injured in Be’er Sheva are in light condition.

#Ynet’s misleading report:
Ynet headline states an IDF force accidentally shot in the direction of the visiting mission.
The purpose of the mission’s visit, checking humanitarian conditions, is not mentioned.
The report is comprised almost entirely of the IDF’s spokesoffice version of the event. Including description of Jenin as a terrorist hub, which I’m guessing is supposed to justify the IDF shooting at foreign diplomats conducting a visit the IDF authorized. 🧐
That’s why Israel is described as a pariah state, I guess.

#Palestine / Israeli Politician Golan: Israel "Kills Babies as a Hobby" in Gaza
Appearing to accuse Israel of "killing babies as a hobby" ("הרג תינוקות כתחביב") and conducting warfare against civilians, Israeli opposition leader and Democrats party chairman Yair Golan has warned that Israel risks becoming "an outcast nation among nations" similar to apartheid-era South Africa if it doesn't change course.
In his statement, Golan emphasized that a "sane country does not conduct warfare against civilians" and criticized the current approach to the Gaza conflict.
The former IDF general differentiated between Israel's military personnel and political leadership, praising soldiers as "heroic" while characterizing government ministers as pursuing dangerous policies. Golan called for Israel to reaffirm its identity as a "Zionist, Jewish and democratic state" while advocating for an end to the fighting, the return of hostages, and the beginning of rehabilitation efforts.
Ironically, #Ynet is reporting that among the critics was also #Herzog, who'll forever be remembered for autographing a bomb to be dropped on Gaza and doing exactly what Golan warns against, claiming that Golan's words are a "serious and false defamation of IDF soldiers."
-
#GazaGenocide / That Herzog?
#Ynet is reporting that Israeli President Herzog’s and his wife will lead the 37th annual "March of the Living," which will take place between #Auschwitz and #Birkenau this Thursday.
Israel's Herzog participation in the Holocaust memorial is clearly deeply hypocritical given his actions and statements. His rhetoric attributing collective blame for #Hamas’s actions to all Palestinians—a statement cited by the International Court of Justice—stands in contrast to the solemnity of commemorating the systematic extermination of Jews during the #Holocaust.
[...] What statesmanship is there in the signing of a lethal munition which, in the eyes of the world, represents Israel’s greatest sin in this war – sowing devastation in Gaza and killing innocents. --- Netta Ahituv wrote Haaretz.
The widely publicized image of Herzog signing a bomb shell intended for use in Gaza, an act condemned as indicative of genocidal intent, underscores a disturbing disconnect between remembering past atrocities while contributing to the suffering of civilians in #Gaza, where over 50,000 people, predominantly women and children, have been murdered so far by the #IDF.

[cont'd] Quoting Ariel Muzicant (European Jewish Congress President): "The motivation of extreme right politicians to come to this conference is not the love for Israel or to protect the Jews, but mainly to get a kosher rabbi stamp,"
European Jewish Congress President Ariel Muzicant has strongly condemned Israeli "Diaspora Affairs" Minister Amichai Chikli for inviting far-right European politicians to an anti-#antisemitism conference, calling it "a stab in the back" to Jewish communities.
According to (right-wing) #JerusalemPost report, prominent Jewish leaders including UK Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis have withdrawn from the March 26-27 event over the inclusion of figures like Jordan #Bardella from #France's National Rally and representatives from parties with histories of antisemitism.

[cont’d] Ynet’s report (Itamar Eichner editorializing news agencies reports, with the help of Moran Azoulay):
Unlike the #Haaretz article, which provided more detailed descriptions of the allegations and evidence while still including Israeli responses, the #Ynet article primarily functions as a platform for official Israeli denials while minimizing the substantive content of the UN report itself.
Very typical editorialized “reporting” in ynet includes:
Delegitimization through quotation marks: the article places quotation marks around terms like "experts" ("מומחים") when referring to the #UN investigators, suggesting their expertise is questionable.
Focus on Israeli responses: approximately half the article is dedicated to Israeli officials' responses, including extensive quotes from #Netanyahu and #Gantz, while providing minimal details about the actual findings.
Emphasis on committee bias: the article repeatedly emphasizes the alleged anti-Israel bias of the Human Rights Council without engaging with the substance of the evidence presented.
Contextual redirection: the article redirects attention to #Hamas's October 7 attacks and alleged sexual violence, implying a false equivalence and shifting focus away from examining the specific allegations against Israeli forces.
Ad hominem approach: rather than addressing the methodology or evidence presented in the report, the article focuses on criticizing committee chair Navi Pillay as "anti-Israeli" ("אנטי-ישראלית").
Also missing:
Specific evidence: Ynet omits almost all references to the evidence presented in the UN report, particularly the approximately twenty videos and photographs documenting alleged abuses. There is no mention of specific video evidence, such as the Telegram channel footage from Ofer prison.
Detailed testimonies: the article excludes the specific testimonies from victims that were central to the UN report, including accounts of physical sexual assault, threats of rape, and the specific question reportedly asked by a soldier: "How do you want us to be raped? One by one or all together?"

#Israel / “By the year 2030, there will be approximately 100,000 IDF disabled veterans”
The Rehabilitation Division's head, Limor Luria, notes that the following numbers are expected to grow in coming years. The teports in #Ynet and #Walla mention that the psychological injury numbers are likely to increase, as these conditions often develop over time. It's worth noting these are official figures. Due to censorship the full extent of casualties might be higher. The budget for rehabilitation has increased from 5.4 billion to 7.3 billion shekels, though officials indicate more funding is needed to provide adequate care for all injured personnel.
1. Total Injured Numbers:
- Approximately 12,000 IDF and security forces personnel have been registered with the Rehabilitation Division since the start of "Swords of Iron" revenge war in Gaza.
- #IDF's official count stands at 5,184 injured, but this doesn't include non-military security personnel like Shin Bet operatives, police officers, and emergency response team members
2. Northern Front (#Lebanon):
- 910 injured have been evacuated to hospitals in the north since the ground operation in Lebanon began (October 1)
- 140 of these have been admitted to the Rehabilitation Division
- This represents a 50% increase compared to the previous month
3. Injury Severity and Types:
- 14% of the injured are classified with moderate-severe injuries
- 8,500 are dealing with physical injuries
- 377 suffer from head injuries, with 23 requiring severe skull reconstruction
- 308 had eye injuries, with 12 losing their sight
- 104 suffer from spinal injuries
- About 60 have undergone amputations
- 5,200 have developed various psychological reactions
4. Demographics:
- 93% of the injured are men, 7% women
- 66% are reserve soldiers
- 51% are between ages 18-30
- About 1,500 have been injured twice during the war year

Quoting Noa Limon:
[...] Perhaps the desire to preserve the dignity of the dead, or the belief that one shouldn't judge a person in their time of grief, prevented most media channels from providing full coverage, or maybe it was fear that exposing these things might serve antisemites. These arguments don't hold water.
[...] First, these things were said with pride and express a worldview rather than mere slips of the tongue. Their utterance reflects their normalization and the speakers' lack of fear of punishment. Second, the funeral was fully documented and is openly available online, just like the videos of looting, humiliation, arson, and revenge published by soldiers, and the calls for war crimes from ministers and public figures over the past year.
[...] Concern that local publications and evidence of war crimes in Gaza might serve Israel's opponents cannot override journalism's basic duty: to expose the truth and provide the public with the complete picture to enable rational discourse based on it, rather than on a censored narrative that leaves countless blind spots.
[...] The media is subject to military censorship, and war coverage is also limited, as the IDF doesn't allow journalists into Gaza unless they're accompanying the military. But the press in Israel doesn't need external restrictions on its freedom; it happily imposes them on itself.

#Ynet's coverage of the settler's funeral deliberately excluded all sections of the eulogy that referenced Ben-Nathan's role in war crimes and his murder of Bilal Salah. By selectively editing out these admissions, Ynet presented an incomplete and sanitized version of events, continuing a pattern of mainstream Israeli media concealing evidence of violence against Palestinians.
What they did quote from the brothers' eulogies are these pastoral scenes:
[...] "You were a good and caring brother, joyful, caring for each and every brother. You helped us when we needed. You were connected to the Land of Israel, God willing we'll merit to plant an orchard or grove in your place to elevate your soul."
His other brother:
[...] "Thank you for praying for me two weeks ago when I was detained. You never stopped praying for me. Thank you for all your help in the grove, you'd come back from the army and invest in the grove. You didn't miss a day without the "Tikkun olam" prayer. You fixed everything in this world. I prayed for you a few days ago at Joshua bin Nun's tomb, Master of the Universe protect him. We will continue to live with faith, with confidence."
