Rabbi Abraham Zerviv, a 54‑year‑old rabbinical judge in Tel Aviv who also serves as a reserve D9 operator, was chosen to light a torch at Israel’s 78th Independence Day ceremony. He has been involved in demolition operations in Gaza, posted videos of those activities, and made controversial remarks such as saying he considered publishing a picture of a Palestinian “because Hamas will finish him.”
The Education Minister praised him as a symbol of deep commitment to the #Jewish people, #Torah and the land, citing his lifelong work to strengthen Torah study and settlement. However, the Judicial Complaints Authority warned that his public calls for settlement in #Gaza and related statements breach the ethical code for judges, since they involve politically contested positions and blur the separation between his judicial duties and military service.

#Palestine / Israeli Military Court Imprisons Palestinian Journalist Amid Ongoing Genocide
The Israeli military's sentencing of #WAFA journalist Rasha Herzallah to six months in prison and a hefty fine exemplifies the systematic targeting of Palestinian media professionals since the start of Israel's genocide in #Gaza in October 2023.
Initially held without charges under administrative detention, Herzallah is one of 94 journalists detained by Israeli authorities during their genocidal assault, including four female journalists.
The pattern of detentions, which includes 16 journalists from Gaza and 17 from the West Bank held under administrative detention, is indicative of Israel's strategy of silencing media coverage of war crimes. Israel's use of military courts and administrative detention - a policy allowing indefinite imprisonment without charges, due process or trial - is designed to suppress Palestinian journalists documenting Israel's actions.

By positioning itself as an advocate for Israel, Palantir can differentiate itself from its competitors and attract more business. "The advantage of Israel is its ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies," Karp said. "Our products know how to give the best response possible in such situations.
