I so agreed with @adhdeanasl's thoughts on #AltText that I decided to do an informal #experiment where I checked the alt text on the first fifty currently #Trending posts that had #images or #videos, and noted which were full, complete-ish descriptions and which were crap and/or slop.
Out of 50 "Trending" posts:
Descriptive Alt Text - 29 (58%)
Unhelpful Alt Text - 21 (42%)I think those are TERRIBLE numbers! 😖😠 Surely we can do better!
