@bragefuglseth Yeah… But #Identica / #StatusNet / #GNUSocial (several renames) have copied Twitter since ’08 (and T’s start was in ’06). I have used a StatusNet instance in ’09 and it was pretty decent, actually! The hacker community liked it but there were no political figures & it dried out (even our Pirate Party at the time rather wanted to be in the midst of the others).
So yeah, the polishment of Mastodon today is impressive but we already had decentralized microblogging back in the 00s. :)

Zuerst auf #Identica,  #Pumpio, #StatusNet, #GnuSocial und #Misskey bis vor kurzem noch mit eigenen #Mastodon und #Diaspora Instanzen.

Seit dem 1. April (kein Scherz) gibt es allerdings nur noch zwei Konten. Eines auf Mastodon:

No identi.ca (do @evan ). Como não há permalink, você tem que rolar a tela (rolagem infinita) até chegar a primeira publicação (última de cima para baixo).

identi.ca/ticseducacao, que foi o nickname que usei no Twitter (2009-2023) e no Identi.ca (2009 -2020). O identi.ca era um clone federado (e melhor) do twitter.

Mas vou poupar o seu trabalho de rolar tela e colocar uma captura de tela da minha primeira publicação no mesmo (a url citada na publicação não existe mais)!

O interessante é que minha primeira instalação do Friendica (que perdi) eu configurei para replicar as publicações no identi.ca. Então tenho uma cópia de várias publicações que fiz na minha primeira instalação do #Friendica neste perfil!

I did the whole frontend (some backend) for #StatusNet #identica. HTML, CSS - no JavaScript.

I take pride in that work b/c it was technically "state of the art".

Progressively enhanced; valid markup, alternate stylesheets, and a tonne of structured data directly in the pages. Essentially enabling a read API.

Ok, that reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask...

How exactly to we count the beginning of the #Fediverse?

I know it's older than #Mastodon, for sure.

Do we just go as far back as #GnuSocial?

What about #Identica? Does that count?

Also, what software did #Quitter run? Did it use #ActivityPub?

I have so many questions as a... somewhat newbie (2018) to the #Fediverse.

The reason all social media since #identica is failing is that all anyone really wants out of social media is to read arguments between Bradley Kuhn and Richard Fontana, but Bradley left social media and so all social media since then is bad.
