I remembered alt + digits was the trick to type stuff not present on the keyboard on PC machines. What I did not realise was that:

* It had to be the keypad (I always used the keypad, just never thought about it).
* This logic was built into the BIOS (again, it makes sense, I just never thought about it).

Well, that should do for a while. 😅​ I shot a bundle of old EPROMs at fleaBay. Far more than I had expected.

Question to my #RetroPC bubble: Most of them seem to contain the #BIOS of PCs around the #i386 age. Is it worth the effort to preserve the binaries, before erasing and cleaning the EPROMs?

I haven't forgotten TAVA FLYER #portablepc and my idea to map its "16 bit expansion connector". Just... it's been two very busy weeks.

That thing has all the address and data lines coming through it via buffers and latches, as expected. Tracing lines that go directly to the CPU/DMA controller is easy, but for those that get lost in a logic jungle of 74' ICs I fear I'll have to start drawing a schematic.
