Hey everyone! I'm trying something new today!
I just started a new folder on the Internet Archive, where I will upload various floppy disk dumps, made from my Greaseweazle. Mostly stuff already available somewhere else, but dumped as raw Greaseweazle streams. I will add more stuff to this folder over time, but this will always be pretty much unsorted, quick & dirty. You get the idea... 😉

Schneller Blick in PC DOS 6.3 .. die DOS-Shell sieht ja eigentlich vertraut aus wie immer, aber dass der "E" Editor noch nichtmal 'ne Mausunterstützung hatte, geht ja mal gar nicht! Für 1994 hätte ich das schon damals etwas antiquiert gefunden! 🤮
Ich bleib dabei, mein Lieblings-DOS ist entweder IBM DOS 5.02, MS-DOS 6.22 oder PC DOS 2000! 😎

Jetzt hab ich schließlich doch noch eine Vollversion von PC DOS 6.3 für meine Sammlung gefunden. Das hat ja gedauert; die scheint ziemlich selten zu sein. Ich hatte zunächst nur eine Upgradeversion gefunden gehabt und die ist natürlich eher unpraktisch für die Installation in einer sauberen 86Box VM.
Die wandern jetzt natürlich beide in mein Diskettenarchiv! :computerfairies:

When I'm updating PC DOS 7 with the latest Y2K FixPak from IBM, it's still PC DOS 7, Rev. 0 with a COMMAND.COM file date from 06/1998.
PC DOS 2000 is supposed to be PC DOS 7 with Y2K updates and fixes already built-in. Its COMMAND.COM is showing a file date from 04/1998 and its version is PC DOS 7, Rev. 1.
So... which one is the better PC DOS 7? Decisions, decisions... 😕

Falls jemand noch Spaß an klassischen DOS-Versionen hat, hab' ich hier soeben die vollständige, deutschsprachige Fassung von "PC DOS 7" hochgeladen. IBM nutzte hier Disketten im 1.840K großen XDF-Format, was ich eine interessante Besonderheit finde. Das 1998 erschienene, offizielle Y2K-Fix-Pack ist ebenfalls mit dabei. Funktioniert alles einwandfrei in 86Box!

They appeared broken or unreadable, no matter what I tried! Luckily, after a little tinkering, I finally managed to make it work... and beautifully!
