Two free services which I used are #DuckDNS to give me a #URL and #LetsEncrypt to provide #SSLCertificates. I had to open up a #Port on my #Router for #PortForwarding and to make sure that the #HomeAssistantGreen is attached to a fixed IP address locally.

There are several online tutorials to perform this operation and I would advise anyone wishing to do so to look at them carefully before proceeding as a misstep can lead you to locking yourself out of your own hub.

#GNU #Linux #HAOS

Ever since I got some new #Inverter and #Batteries for my #SolarPanels, I’ve been looking for a way to process the data they produce. To be sure, the manufacturer has a nice #WebApp but I wanted something I could tinker with. Therefore, a while ago, I bought a #HomeAssistantGreen, which is basically a #RaspberryPi #SBC which is pre-loaded with #HAOS and so is a functioning #HomeAssistant instance.

#FreeSoftware

Noob clueless question
Why am I getting emails from #letsencrypt that I need to renew a certificate? At first I thought it was a scam.
There's a complicated looking link that includes #NabuCasa that doesn't work when I click it (on my phone at least, using the duck duck go browser).
I do have a #HomeAssistantGreen but I'm not using the cloud service (I did use the trial month)

A new toy to play with has arrived. 😍

Can't wait to get started with #homeassistantgreen 😀

Incoming early Christmas gifts for me from me: #homeassistantgreen and #earbuds ....I hope they get to me before I leave on vacation 😃

Just went through the super easy setup of my #HomeAssistantGreen at my cabin.

I love that I can turn off the LED's through the hardware config. Nice work @homeassistant and #NabuCasa

Oh hello! #homeassistantgreen

The new #HomeAssistantGreen has arrived. The only slight issue is that the power adapter doesn’t have an AU plug. Also, it’s a barrel jack when ideally we should be moving to usb-c, right?

So, what do we all think of the #HomeAssistantGreen ?

$99 seems like a fantastic price!

Anyone planning to get one? For themselves? For a family member?
