Some of us in the FOSS space are fed up of being the benevolent doormats that get pissed on "for fun" before being begged for help when shit goes south.

When someone is giving you countless warnings that you're doing something stupid, along with explanation, proof, examples, etc., and your reaction is "stfu lol, gtfo you useless dumbfuck nerd", don't be surprised said "nerd" doesn't hold you in high regard, or wants to help you later on.

Reminder: Matrix is "up". The "matrix.org" homeserver is "down" today (https://status.matrix.org), but that doesn't stop matrix from working. Your matrix rooms are still "up", even those with "matrix.org" addresses.

What does that mean? User accounts registered on "matrix.org" (ending in ":matrix.org") are offline today. Everybody else is still there in your rooms, chatting away.

How is that? That's because a matrix chat room exists jointly and independently across the servers of all its members. A room is not "on" a server. When any server goes down, all the room members registered on other servers can continue chatting among themselves. No matter if the server that created the room goes down. Even if the server named in the room's address or "alias" goes down.

A prominent Matrix server is down today, affecting the users registered on it. But the rooms are not down, for everyone registered on other servers, because a room is not "on" a server. Matrix stays up.

@raiderrobert I still use a log book (Hilroy spiral bound) to write stuff into. If it's a new day, date at the top right, and bucket (client name or project) at the top left, and finally the time in the margin before I start writing anything.

- 98 % Netzabdeckung "in der Bevölkerung" (aber nicht in der Fläche)
- "bis zu" 12 MBit/s
- Google / Apple user
- "Nutzen Sie unsere App"
- Zutritt nur mit ...
- kann Spuren von Nüssen enthalten
- Schulabschluss nur mit iPad und MS365
- ...

und jedesmal brechen (mindestens) ein paar zehntausend Mitbürger weg.
Es ist digitale #Diskriminierung, wenn Menschen keine Fahrkarte mehr kaufen können, ausgesperrt oder im Katastrophenfall nicht gewarnt werden.

Gute, inklusive Digitalisierung geht halt anders. Besonders von öffentlicher Seite. Aber dafür bräuche es dann Visionen und Konzepte und keinen kurzfristigen Pragmatismus mit #WorksForMe seitens der Berater und Verantwortlichen 🤷

Also nicht in den nächsten 20 Jahren. 🤔
