@[email protected] Hat leider wieder ein bisschen gedauert, bis ich die neuen BWT Geräte voll in Betrieb nehmen konnte.

Stellte sich nämlich heraus: Die Firmware der Weichwasseranlage war veraltet, so dass sich das Gerät weder registrieren noch OTA aktualisieren ließ. Da gab es bei BWT wohl serverseitig Änderungen... Das ging nur über einen Service-Termin vor Ort.

Der war heute und nun klappte nicht nur endlich die Registrierung, sondern - Danke der hervorragenden Perla Integration - auch die Einbindung beider Geräte in #homeassistant 🎉

Danach habe ich direkt mal die Wasserhärte gemessen und die Einstellungen bei Kaffeemaschine und Geschirrspüler entsprechend angepasst. Wir freuen uns jetzt auf deutlich weniger bzw. praktisch gar keinen Kalk mehr an Duschköpfen, Wasserhähnen, Wasserkocher etc

Just noticed one of my smart plugs has died. I had a Tasmota smart plug on my fridge freezer for power monitoring, but when I opened the fridge door earlier the light didn’t come on and I found the smart plug is now completely unresponsive.

That’s the second smart plug I’ve had die this year, the first was also on another fridge.

Integrated data from #WAQI and Met.no in #HomeAssistant to monitor the haze (air quality) lol, so I can keep track when my cats can be free again.

Every damn time I update EMQX, Z2M loses some devices. Restarting Z2M gets SOME of them back, but others need to be powercycled or even re-paired to show up.
No consistency either, some identical devices may show up all three behaviour.

Frustrating :-(

A couple of days ago I've set up a voice command in #HomeAssistant for playing stories via #MusicAssistant. My preschooler loves it! He just got back home, immediately said out loud, "Okay Nabu, play stories" (In Croatian) and took a seat to enjoy the stories. He's been listening to them much more than usual since I've set the command up.

Kudos to everyone at and around @openhomefoundation for building amazing communities, software and hardware!

Back in December 2024 I bought a load of these Aqara #zigbee temperature and humidity sensors to use with my #homeAssistant install. I wondered at the time how long the CR2032 coin cells in them would last.

Well, they started complaining of having 0% remaining battery about a month ago, but I played chicken with them and the first one actually went offline yesterday.

Shout out to @codechimp for the awesome HA-Battery-Notes integration!

Looking for a #Zigbee switch that can directly control a group.

Tried the IKEA RODRET, came with the INSPELNING. It’s difficult to integrate into #HomeAssistant, the device immediately goes to sleep. Connecting it to a group never worked.

Boughht a Philips Dimmer Switch. It registers in HA, but can’t assign it to a Zigbee group either. And doesn’t generate events in HA, so it’s useless.

What switches can actually control a Zigbee group offline, and work reliably? Do you have any other ideas?

For some reason though, #iOS 27 update causes my #HomeAssistant app to not be able to stream my camera feeds. What's up with that?

Oh no. My Home Assistant migration is forcing me to review VLAN placement, and possibly enabling local IPv6 traffic in order to solve problems with the Matter protocol. That was totally unexpected.

I’m sitting on the edge of another dumb project. Apparently, you can get a cheap (~€50) digital frame (#Frameo), which has WiFi, touch screen and runs on Android (6 or 10, from what I’ve seen).

You can root it and replace supplied software with WebView app, which then allows you to display and use #HomeAssistant dashboard.

Now, I don’t need a digital photo frame, but it’s cheap enough I might risk getting one…😂

Things I've done lately:

Added Evershelf and Mealie to #HomeAssistant. Between the two, I've automated (as much as I can) my pantry inventory and shopping lists. Respective grocery lists are viewable when I'm in the zone for the appropriate store. Lists are only viewable if something is on said list.

Added Traccar. Set an automation to open all navigation requests to open on my phone in OsmAnd.

All added via Docker and configured over the last 2 days.

Next up: move Wyoming protocol and Music Assistant to Docker from the Odroid N2+. Add 16GB minimum to my PC and add a GPU to be able to optimize and better utilize Ollama. Obtain an inexpensive tablet to use as a dedicated kitchen display for Home Assistant. Add a new robot vacuum to remove that chore from my list. Find an acceptable method to mount my video doorbell. I suspect I won't, for reasons. (I'll adjust.) Add smart lock. Tackle a list of 7 repairs and 20 other items to do for Home Assistant. It's getting there...

Integrating the Kide School Timetable into Homeassistant could be so easy if the two schools would manage to give the parents access to Webuntis. But that seems to be a real problem in Gelsenkirchen. So i have now told my local AI to gererate a python script that generates an ics file (can use that for multiple schedules which is faster than using the AI to generate the ICS) i can put as remote calendar in Home Assistant. Of course it lacks real time updates buts better than nothing. #gelsenkirchen #fedilz  #homeassistant

Frage an die Katzen- und Smarthome-Leute: Ich suche einen Futterautomaten für unsere zwei Katzen, der zwei bis drei zeitgesteuerte Portionen Nassfutter gekühlt ausgibt. Ideal wäre eine Erkennung über den implantierten Chip statt Halsband, gern smart und in Home Assistant eingebunden. Nach langer Recherche scheint es Chip-Erkennung und gekühlte Zeitfütterung in keinem Gerät zusammen zu geben.
