Dein "weshalb" halte ich für problematisch, den Zusammenhang gibt es nämlich nicht. Aber smarte Geräte, die über #HomeAssistant gesteuert eben nicht nach Hause telefonieren.

Du machst halt selbst das Licht an und die Rolläden runter, wenn es dunkel wird, holst bei Sturm selbst die Markise ein, schaltest Heizung / Klima ein, wenn dir warm / kalt ist ganz ohne wettervorhersagenabhängige Anpassung und wenn du mal alt und krank bist, stehst du halt auf und machst dem Arzt / Pflegedienst das mechanische Schloss zu Fuß auf anstelle das vom Bett aus mit dem Handy zu erledigen. Und deine Wärmepumpe steuerst du durch manuelles Nachlegen der Holzscheite oder was?

Pro Tipp für dich:
Wofür einen Router? Schreiben / Briefmarke! So wird Verzicht erst so richtig schön zu Freiheit 😉

als allererstes werde ich die nächsten Tage (vmtl. Freitag, an meinem privaten Bastel-Tag) mal eine Automatisierung bauen die da Wetter-Daten aus #HomeAssistant alle X stunden in den Kanal #Wetter wirft.

IDK ob ich mir da ein sinnvolles Schema (JSON?) einfallen lassen sollte, oder ob menschenlesbarer Text besser wäre?

Dann könnte ich auch so lokale Nachrichtenquellen parsen und damit die Lokalpolitik-Kanäle um Inhalte ergänzen.

Evtl. in automatisiert über neue MC-Versionen in bestimmten Kanälen informieren?

Hab die letzten Wochen immer wieder gedacht "#MeshCore ist durchgespielt" und überlegt was ich mit der inzwischen ziemlich uninteressanten Hardware jetzt anfangen soll?

• Alles ausschalten und in die Schublade?
• Weiter täglich "Guten Morgen", "Guten Abend", "Ping" (und sonst nie IRGENDWAS sinnvolles) mitlesen?
• doch nochmal versuchen Kanäle wie "Politik"/"depol"/"Staddrat" zu etablieren? (bisher vollständig gescheitert)

Dann vorhin angefangen das unwichtigste der drei Geräte abzubauen und mal noch schnell nachgesehen was man stattdessen drauf flashen könnte?

Stellt sich raus: WLAN/IP-Anbindung statt BLE geht jetzt doch endlich relativ einfach.

Und nicht nur das! Wenn das Ding schon per IP angebunden ist, kann ich das auch endlich sinnvoll an #HomeAssistant knüppern.

Und plötzlich fallen mir wieder mindestens zwei Anwendungen ein, an denen ich rumbasteln kann! 😀

Oh oh, maybe if you could program a dead-man switch outlet #zigbee device where if it doesn't get a response from the coordindator every 30 seconds - 2 minutes it power cycles itself! #HomeAssistant crazy ideas.

My #HomeAssistant RPi4 was locked up for about 30 minutes before I realized it was dead, and manually rebooted it.

Man, if only I could have an HA automation where if it detects the box is unresponsive it reboots the machine.

EEbus Support für Vaillant Wärmepumpen in Home Assistant

Für Heimautomatisierungsenthusiasten ist die Frage des Monitoring und Steuerung von Heizungsanlagen häufig ein großes Thema, in zweierlei Hinsicht: Zum einen sind die meisten Anlagen mit proprietären Protokollen ausgestattet und man bekommt "nur" inoffizielle Lösungen wie emsesp für die Bosch/Buderus Famile oder ebusd für Vaillant und Co. Manchmal, mit Glück, gibts einen (häufig unterdokumentierten) Weg über Modbus, oder KNX.

Genau wie ursprünglich EMS und ebus, ist der "neue" Universalstandard, der auch in die Laststeuerungspläne der Stromversorger Einzug gehalten hat, EEbus.

EEbus krankt aber wie viele andere Universallösungen zuvor daran, dass die ganzen Hersteller sich nicht gerne in ihre Geräte schauen lassen und daher gibt es vendorspezifische Erweiterungen und vieles davon ist mindestens obfusziert, häufig mit irgendwas verschlüsselt.

Doch jetzt gibt es (endlich?) auch eine HA-EEbus Bridge für Home Assistant. Alles noch sehr frisch, viel Protokoll-Analyse, und natürlich funktioniert nicht an jeder Anlage alles. Aber es ist eine Alternative für alle die, die sich nicht mit den Untiefen von ebus auseinandersetzen wollen und eine Cloud-freie Lösung haben wollen, um ihre Vaillant WP einzubindenˆ[1]

Zumindest, wenn Laststeuerung nach §14a und einfache Thermostatregelung für Heizung und Warmwasser ausreichen. An meiner Anlage funktioniert noch nicht mal das Energie Reporting, und ich habe eine funktionierende ebus Installation. Deswegen für mich nur akademischer Natur.

[1] zumal Vaillant den MyPyllant Usern mit immer strengeren Quotas langsam aber sicher die Luft abschnürt, so sehr, dass der Entwickler der MyPyllant Komponente auch eine eigene Vaillant-ebus-Komponente entwikelt hat, die immerhin Basis-Steuerung zulässt.

It works! After some tweaking my automation to detect the washing machine running is a little more cautious and doesn't go off in the middle of the cycle when the motor stops for 30 seconds.

At the conclusion of the cycle my voice booms out and reminds anyone nearby to empty the washing machine.

Looks like it's lagged about 5 minutes, which I could probably tighten up a bit. #HomeAssistant

Also. Das gute ist, mein Wasseralarm mit #homeassistant funktioniert und der Alarmton geht auch durch die eigentlich dauerhafte Stummschaltung meines Smartphones. Hätte heute Nacht um eins für die lächerliche Wassermenge aber nicht unbedingt losgehen müssen. 😑

Ich hab dann einen Aufnehmer auf den Boden gelegt und den Sensor etwas verschoben und den Rest der Nacht war dann eh kein Regen mehr angesagt. 🤷‍♂️

Aggregates and normalises various state fire warning info into a HA dashboard. Seems quite useful. It's not internal tool level, but it's good enough for most purposes.

Ok, #HomeAssistant #MusicAssistant Anyone know why the 'Play Specified Media' action switched from playing the specified media, to playing the first audio file in the same directory, and then subsequently changed to playing a pseudo randomized playlist of files from my media folders, starting with that first file in the folder the specified media is stored in? I'm really not looking for a media player that plays the same randomized tracks every day until I take the speaker away from the player.

Slowly ripping the last Homematic (non-IP) devices out of my home automation setup. Just a few heating thermostats and room temp sensors left.

I already run Zigbee + Thread here, so I want to drop that extra base station entirely and switch to one of them. Today I grabbed this IKEA Matter temp sensor to start testing for alternatives.

Curious what everyone else runs at home: do you lean Matter/Thread or Zigbee, and why?

Auf die letzten Jahre der Wolf Gastherme noch ein neues ISM8i OpenSource Smartmodul als Schnäppchen von Rudis Resterampe einbauen, um mit #HomeAssistant das Optimum an Zuheizen mit schlauen Ventilen zu erreichen. Ich bin sehr gespannt.

My #Sonoff ZBMINIL2 started disconnecting from my #ZigBee network a few months ago. I would reset and re-add it but then, a few minutes later it was already disconnected. It's literally on the other side of the wall where my antenna is. I thought it was defective so I replaced it but the same thing happened with the new one. Oh, as an aside, I finally took the time and got a good solution in #HomeAssistant to determine if:

1. Tomorrow is a school day
2. Today is a school day

The second was easy, thanks to recent improvements in the Calendar feature. The first required some scripting to get right, but it now sets a toggle correctly.

This means that I can vary the bedtime and wakeup automations and times based on the school day context. A small convenience, but a huge QoL improvement.

Hooking up an LLM + MCP + HA and having basically a text interface into Home Assistant that knows how to do shit is amazing. I've always struggled making good looking dashboards and getting all my tools to talk to one another. Now I have something that correlates all the different pieces and finds configuration holes and disconnects.

It's a strange new world. This dashboard took about 10m to create and I love it.
