been breaking my head for a while how to get the Home Assistant Connect ZBT-2 to South Africa, short of finding an excuse to go on holiday to Europe and get it whilst there.

@cryptgoat Ich habe bei mir schon lange alle proprietären Gateways von #IKEA, #Hue und Co. rausgeworfen. Bei mir werkeln für #Zigbee und #Thread zwei Home Assistant #ZBT1 Sticks. Verwaltung der Endgeräte übernimmt nativ Home Assistant. Mittlerweile gibt es auch den #ZBT2: https://www.home-assistant.io/connect/zbt-2
Ich vermute, das die neuen #Matter-fähigen IKEA-Endgeräte auf Thread für den Funk setzen und darüber Matter stülpen?

Woah. It is possible to ship electronics without any plastic wrapping. Fascinating!
…and then: The ZBT’s antenna case has the injection point on the *front* when properly screwed in. It doesn’t seem like it can be screwed in another orientation. Do I need to try and take it apart? 😭

If the ZBT-2 was capable of Zigbee+Thread simultaneous networks I wouldn't have thought twice.
But having to choose makes me just wait until that product exists.
