6 #EU nations want to tax windfall profits, apparently Global profits, of oil companies, especially the refiners. Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Poland and Austria are for for it. Missing from this list are France, Netherlands and Ireland. Apparently cost of living is a factor in EU.

If only there was a working pipeline which could carry gas and oil to Europe which was immune to closure of #Hormuz.

The D-Day sanctions on #Iran are futile unless #US sanctions #China. US will not do that, too high a price. US may block the sea lanes, to an extent, but it still leaves the Central Asia and Russian corridor to China wide open. Just as the proposed pipelines bypassing Strait of #Hormuz will be built over the next 4-5 years so can new pipelines and rail from Iran to Western China.

The #MoU has been merely suspended. It has not been nullified. It has not been annulled. It has not been revoked.

Since the #MoU has not been abrogated, expect #US and #Iran to return back to its essence in a few weeks. Once the munitions have been exhausted.

#MoU has been suspended but not abrogated. That is a crucial and significant development.

There was a misunderstanding between the parties about what is there in MoU. While differences are sorted out, strait of #Hormuz remains closed. Maybe #BabElMandeb strait will be closed too.

Both the #US and #Iran are not bound by the MoU. They will be bound to the agreement which comes out of the MoU
