To be fair, what are the effective options open to any govt opposing Israël’s aggression? Short of:
- Declaring war, (essentially genocide with a moral excuse)
- economic embargo (which would need to be universally applied to have any durable and effective effect)
- Assassination of the whole war cabinet (they tried that in 45, it failed)
- A forceful UN occupation of disputed territories (that’s been done and it failed as well)
- A plausible denial of Israeli airspace (doesn’t avoid ground operations)
- An arms embargo (where Russia would fill the void)
- other aggressive options (meeting violence with violence?)Can’t think of a single ‘non-violent’ action that would make Netanyahu sit up and take notice. I’d love it if there was. The best way is for the Israeli poeple to evict him and his cabinet from office and no one can ‘make’ that happen but the Israeli people themselves (without foreing interference if Netanyahu is to remains out of office afterwards).
Just my thinking on it though. I’m not suffring, my family is not suffering, I’m not on the ground and have no skin in the game some politicians play.
