If #US is unable to commit ground troops to overthrow the regime in Tehran or open the Strait of #Hormuz then what does it portend for conflicts in Western Pacific? #Taiwan is not a treaty ally of US, regardless of 1979 Taiwan act. #Iran and #Russia's ability to manufacture drones and missiles is limited. The capacity of #China to build missiles and drones is significantly more.

This has not gone unnoticed in Asia

The D-Day sanctions on #Iran are futile unless #US sanctions #China. US will not do that, too high a price. US may block the sea lanes, to an extent, but it still leaves the Central Asia and Russian corridor to China wide open. Just as the proposed pipelines bypassing Strait of #Hormuz will be built over the next 4-5 years so can new pipelines and rail from Iran to Western China.

1937, #Japan invades Nationalist #China kicking off #WW2. One of the biggest supporter of Chiang Kai-shek was the British empire. This lasted till 1939 when Adolf Hitler's actions forced London to reevaluate and curtail the support. #US did step in the breach.

Post 2027 if something happens in Western #Pacific, then #Washington will face a hobbesian choice similar to what London faced in 1939. #Ukraine and #Israel will be left to fend for themselves.

#Ukraine is targeting #Russian oil #refineries and #tankers. Missing from the target list is Russian #LNG tankers and infrastructure. Hmm I wonder why? Who is the biggest #LNG customer of Russia and who has the most to loose in case of a disruption of Russian #LNG supply? Can someone please help shed some light on this?

Does targeting tankers and refineries in any way construe a war crime? #Iran is watching.
