@[email protected] Having gone back and forth over this one so many times I finally land upon Binbiniqegabenik (AKA Binabik) from Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by Tad Williams. Feel like I am taking a big risk here because I haven't read those books since I was a teenager and for all I know he's actually a horrendous ethnic stereotype. But he made an impact on me then for his refusal to be less than a whole person in the narrative. Not a sidekick or disposable mentor figure, but a co-participant with a past and (hopefully) future and dreams all his own.

And if not, the photo-finish second is Bilbo Baggins, best known for The Hobbit and also appearing in The Lord of the Rings. He's just out there, trying to enjoy his morning and live a cosy life when all of a sudden he's bundled off on an adventure he never asked for, to do a job he never trained for, and somehow (providence) he pulls it off! Only to then succumb to a terrible ring-addiction, which he also overcomes, one of only two people to manage that. Pretty cool, and I tend to forget he did all that. #FavCharacterAtoZ, #FavCharacterB

B is a good letter for fighting game characters: BlazBlue's Bullet is a curvy aggressive brawler with a feral tomboy aesthetic and Bruce Irving (Tekken) is the game's Black Muay Thai practitioner.

Unfortunately, I gotta go with Berserker from Fate, specifically Berserker Lancelot from Fate:Zero

This Berserker is enigmatic. He is mad. He is imposing. He is almost entirely silent. He threatens the rest of the battle royal's cast with eerie hostility.

His power lets him gain mastery of any weapon he touches, no matter what is, because A Knight Does Not Die With Empty Hands.

And I do mean ANY weapon. Fighter Jet? He pilots it by standing on it. Shoot him down and he pulls the minigun from it, and now THAT's his weapon. He can wield anything he can hold, with deadly mastery. A stop sign might as well be a halberd.

He's a villain, technically, but that only makes him a cooler, more menacing presence.

Top 10 character for me, from a show I barely like, from a series I dislike.

I don't actually like Fate as a series. I mostly kind of like Fate:Zero, and Berserker Lancelot is Half of the Reason why. (The other half is Rider Iskander, who I will try to cover as R or I)

B is tough. I'm going to toss up between Bilbo Baggins and Ben Grimm. Let's go with Bilbo.

Braver than he thinks, bolder than he knows, and smarter than anyone expects, he tricks Gollum, taunts a dragon (and lives), and ends a war by being an honest thief.

And he's a writer. What's not to like?

took me awhile but I settled on Brock Samson from the Venture Bros.

He is sort of a weird parody of Race Bannon from Johnny Quest but I dunno he has a mullet and listens to Led Zeppelin and likes to kill large numbers of henchman with a bowie knife because he has been issued a license to kill.

He is voiced by Patrick Warburton who gives a phenomenal performance and brings just the right amount of intimidating but down to earth.

@ami_angelwings I replied to this the other day but I'm going through to stay caught up and I'm amending my #FavCharacterB to Beat from UNBEATABLE. There's something about a character that gets dropped in an unfamiliar circumstance and gets told "the things you love don't matter" and pushing back violently against that external pressure by making art and finding purpose that I find extremely compelling. She's just an extremely well realized character and I love the way she's portrayed a lot.
