Jenn is one of a loooong series of "girl version of established character" but has successfully differentiated herself. Hulk explores having and losing and regaining control, but She-Hulk has a job as a lawyer that she performs in and out of her powers (usually). She explores the intersection of normal Humans and superheroes, often in humorous ways but frequently serious and almost always interesting. She's her own character, and no character in comics is subject to the dramatic variance in physique that she is.

I admire his focus, his dedication and capacity to make difficult decisions, and the resolve that enables him to consistently prioritise the safety of the crew in his care and their mission over all manner of temptation, romantic or otherwise. Kirk always tries to find a peaceful solution, even when the logical response (as advocated by Spock on multiple occasions) is violence, even when he himself wants violence and even when he must put the Enterprise and its crew, shown so many times as so precious to him, on the line to give peace that chance. The man who would rather find common ground with the horta than exterminate it. The man who would give his own life rather than surrender his ship to an enemy. And the man who would leave his ship vulnerable to destruction by an only recently former enemy, rather than fight back and guarantee a war on the threshold to an end of enmity.
Star Trek left me with an unfortunately overinflated expectation for the level of maturity I could expect from the adult world. But I keep on hoping.

For #FavCharacterJ I am going with Jessica Jones. Specifically the Netflix Marvel version of her because I never read any of her comics.
I was already a big Krysten Ritter fan before this show, and I loved most of the Netflix Marvel shows. I love the idea of a moody depressed PI who just happens to have super strength for some reason.

I've decided my #FavCharacterJ. I know he's turned into a caricature by parodies over decades, but James T. Kirk isn't Zapp Brannigan: he seduces women when he's trying to get his ship & crew out of danger, he only fights when it's forced on him (people know the Gorn fight but not how it ended). He's ultimately a man of peace & exploration, & it's embodied in his most heroic moment: surrendering the Enterprise in ST6 because he knew peace was more important than his personal feelings. I love Kirk.
So it's hard on me that I'm going with Babylon 5's John Sheridan & his ability to get out of any situation by smuggling nukes into everything. But the show completely turned around when he took over. He is a great character, clever, thoughtful & played by the perfect actor.

Jack's the more Everyman one of the pair, a retired shop keeper who's not as quick on the uptake as Victor, a retired engineer, and more gruff where Victor is witty and dapper. Jack's the more Everyman one of the pair, a retired shop keeper who's not as quick on the uptake as Victor, a retired engineer, and more gruff where Victor is witty and dapper. Is he the Platonic Ideal of the "boy thief in a vaguely medieval fantasy story setting"? Oh, totally yes. Does he steal every scene he's in, from the time we meet him until death? Also absolutely yes.
