Un momento de confesión o debilidad.
Me tocó una época rara de internet. Nunca fui parte de comunidades grandes. A mí no me crío Tumblr. Siempre fui de foros, de sitios chiquitos. Y en esos círculos se apreciaba mucho el oneshot bien escrito. Te daba cierto status saber escribir una obra bien condensada y con recursos narrativos bien aprovechados que un walltext sin pies ni cabeza.
Mis ex colegas posteriores no lo veían así y me volví el apestado porque era el único del grupo que no tenía un longfic a sus espaldas. "Te gusta lo fácil" decían.
Ahora tengo una obra terminada. No para callar bocas pero al menos creo que ya nadie va a tener los huevos de cuestionar mi calidad como autor por no tener cierto tipo de trabajos.

¿Quién jala?
La idea es que nos agrupemos un par de autores, pasemos las obras con summary y link, se sortee el orden de las novelas a leer. Dependiendo del largo de la obra se le pueden dedicar dos o tres sesiones. Entonces cada semana en nuestras casitas o donde estemos leemos la obra, pudiendo tomar notas, luego un día y hora concreto nos reunimos todos a comentar la obra y darle feedback al autor.
Para nada le estoy robando la idea a Seve, ustedes no vieron nada 👀
En el caso de los que somos fickers que la obra a dar sea generalista, es decir, que se pueda leer como una obra original o en su defecto dar el background previo que permita entender la obra sin que "TE TIENES QUE VER LOS MÁS DE MIL CAPÍTULOS DE ONE PIECE Y LAS PELIS PARA PODER ENTENDERLE"
Y no, no pienso aceptar prejuicios ante la escritura transformativa, por eso mismo me parece importante que autores de la misma puedan ser parte de esta dinámica.

Today I'm reccing FanFicFare, a Calibre plugin to download fanfiction! It can download fics from over 100 sites and update them as new chapters release, make covers, and includes all the metadata and tags in the file so it can all be neatly organized.
I love this plugin so much and it makes keeping track of downloaded fics so easy 🥹

Bit of a long shot, but does anybody know if any #HarryPotter #SlowHorses crossover #Fanfics exist? This feels like a thing that's begging to be written, as sirius Black and Jackson Lamb are the same actor. Average word count for a literary novel is 86,000 words. She has read 102.8 literary novels in fanfics this year.
This is only 70% through the year.
This is an average of 145 literary novels of fanfic a year.
12 novels a month.
0.4 novels a day.
1,444 words an hour.
Or 2,167 words every hour assuming she reads 16 hours a day. -

While reading #fanfics, I've always preferred to browse on Ao3—with its useful tagging system and openness (both of the platform and community. However, recently some works on SpaceBattles have caught my attention; they seem to have on average a higher writing quality than those on other sites. I initially found it quite strange the fact that I was searching for fan fiction on a forum, but the works there made it worth the adaptation.

El 15 de febrero es el Día Internacional de las Obras Fans (en todas las disciplinas). Si hablamos de fanfics (relatos basados en personajes de historias que ya existen, ya sean de libros, series, videojuegos, etc.), siempre he pensado que hay una tendencia a infravalorarlos, no solo por ser historias basadas en otras, sino también por su temática (suelen presentar, aunque no de forma exclusiva, una gran carga emocional, romántica o sexual). Lo cierto es que los beneficios de escribir fanfics son múltiples, desde entrenar la escritura hasta desarrollar la imaginación. Creo que se debería poder decir sin tapujos que hay mucha gente que los escribe. Yo misma comencé en ese terreno, y de hecho los he estado escribiendo hasta hace bastante poco (tengo un buen puñado de ellos en Archive of Our Own).
