#WritersCoffeeClub 9/8: International Literacy Day! Share a moment when a reading of your work surprised you.

I'll share a story of mine. It's one of my absolute favorite things I've ever written, and ironically, it's only fanfiction. It features an original character, another Van Helsing member of the family with Peter Cushing as the face-claim. Dracula, of course, will always be my dear Christopher Lee. Hammer Horror will *foever* have my entire heart.

Anyway, I'm *incredibly* proud of this story and the way it turned out. My vocabulary, sentence structure, the near-Victorian vibe from it all... I just *adore* this story. It doesn't take place in the Victorian or Edward period, of course, it's the 70s, but that gothic feeling is more than present. I just love this one so much. I was impressed with myself for once, and I was so proud of the final, finished product. I've turned it into an ongoing series for my readers.

A necromancer (named Damir) comes across an enchantress and has no idea what to do with her. She's mysterious, unearthly and incredibly powerful, but she's determined to help him as well. Damir has traveled to Caldeum and Mount Arreat, battling the demon lords known as Azmodan and Belial. Eirena does what she can for him.
