10-second spoiler-free movie review: "Coyote vs. Acme" (2026)
(Okay, this one takes longer than 10s to read. So sue me.)
For those of a certain age, who grew up on a steady diet of Looney Tunes and "The Bugs Bunny - Road Runner Hour", this is a huge collection of references to the 'toons we watched as kids, but I think it would be just as enjoyable for those who came after and don't really know the material.
The story around it is good enough to entertain, despite liberties taken with reality. Will Forte is (to me) likeable and funny, and Wile E. is perhaps the most expressive and emotive 'toon character I've ever seen. Decent supporting cast.
The people who made this film clearly connected with the source material and mostly did right by the classic characters they were bringing back. There's no Mel Blanc to get the voices perfect, but you can't have everything.
It's fun. See it. And look up its production history if you want more proof of what a bunch of soulless ghouls and MBAs (but I repeat myself) film studio executive suites are full of.
