I'm also not sure if returning to Twilight and the Mane 6 is a smart move for G6. I can already hear the tsunami of "they ruined [my favorite character]" comments building up at the horizon. Everyone has so much headcanon, expectations and strong opinions now that they will be disappointed no matter what. And we get another prematurely cancelled MLP series. For the same reason there will never be a Half Life 3.

I'm probably one of the few people who actually liked MLP G5 (just didn't like the animation and the sticky hooves). I would have loved to learn more about their world. What happened to the other pony settlements? Canterlot and the rest of former Equestria. The other Alicorns. The other countries and kingdoms like that of the Griffons. What's Discord up to? I think it had a lot of lovable characters too.
